Sequel to the agitation of Ekiti South Agenda to secure the ticket of gubernatorial candidacy of Peoples' Democratic Party in the forthcoming election of Ekiti State.

The senator Representing Ekiti South at Nigeriasenate, Chief Mrs Biodun Olujimi who has earlier stated during an interview with Ojaomonews.com that "she's equally interested in the gubernatorial race" hosted Mr Kayode Adaramodu, the former MD of Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) and gubernatorial aspirant from the south Senatorial district.

Ojaomonews.com reliably gathered that it was a meeting to strengthen synergy for a southerner guber ticket and to put an end to the inequality and injustice melted on the south Senatorial district.

Though, the senator and the financial expert did not disclose their discussions but a close ally of the former GTB MD, Kayode Adaramodu who craved anonymity said the was aimed at chatting course for uniformity of ideas and purposeful for the people of the South Senator District beyond personal interests.

Ekiti2022: Equity should be placed ahead of interest, South Agenda replies Segun Oni

Published by Ojaomonews
James Oja, Ado-Ekiti
July 28th, 2021

Publicity Secretary of Ekiti South Agenda, Mr Jide Ojaomo has faulted the call by a former Governor of Ekiti State, Engr. Segun Oni, to disregard the call for power shift to  Ekiti South in 2022.

Recall that Oni who is a gubernatorial aspirant had faulted agitation by other prominent PDP and APC leaders in the South Senatorial District of the State on the importance of producing the next governor from the zone, having been denied the opportunity of such position since the creation of the state in 1996.

Reacting, Mr Ojaomo negates Oni for his unthoughtful opposition to a gentle-man arrangement, wondering why the former Governor who was a product of zoning would take such an unpopular stance.

The statement reads;

"Our attention has been drawn to a well publicised but unthoughtful remarks by former Governor Segun Oni on the call for power shift to Ekiti south in 2022.

It is rather unfortunate that Oni, who claims to be a member of PDP and seeks to actualise his gubernatorial ambition on the party's platform,  failed to understand that zoning is part of the culture of the party.

It is on record that the zoning of elective and appointment is in the brain of PDP.  Oni himself was a beneficiary of zoning arrangement when he was presented as the party's governorship candidate in 2007 despite coming distant third at the primary, simply because of a call for power shift to Ekiti North.

It is ridiculous that same Segun Oni still desires to be a PDP candidate even though Ekiti South is yet to preside over the state, while Ekiti North that he hails from has enjoyed Eleven years of running the state's affairs

For the record, the call for power shift to a neglected area is not peculiar to Ekiti south alone. In 2007, our party zoned its presidential office to the northern part of the country for equity.

Also in the forthcoming Anambra election, our party picked her candidate, Mr Valentine Ozigbo, from Anambra south in line with power rotation in the state.

Fact is, Governors of southern Nigeria across party lines have demanded presidential power to shift to the region after the eight-year tenure of President Muhammadu Buhari elapses in 2023.

Even at the last gubernatorial election in Ekiti, our great party presented Professor Olusola Eleka from the south as a candidate to change the narrative and of marginalization of the South which was hijacked by the APC.

It is also important to state expressly that Ekiti South has quintessential products for the governorship position. "The narrative that only Oni can win the election for PDP is a figment of imagination. The present situation of APC in Ekiti, vis-a-vis its poor performance, are substantive variables to oust it in 2022.

We, therefore, urge him to desist from this line of thought and join hands with patriotic Ekiti indigenes for the actualisation of a Governor from the south, who will be acceptable by all indigenes of the state, he concluded

Security challenge is impossible to clarify, we Nigerians needs to be vigilant, to be our brothers keepers and to be suspicious.

In the villages, we must know people that surround us and to always reports anybody that is suspicious to the appropriate quarters if we do that in the small areas, it Will be adding values to whatever the government is able to do.

We also urge our government to Wake up to the tedious task, the major responsibility of government is to secure lives and properties, if they fail in that then they've failed in all.

I know that government are taking measures to stem insecurities bit it's nothing enough.

The insurgency, instabilities, violence and criminalities permiating our societies is not what we imagined or voted for, we've never had it so bad in our dear country".

July 14th, 2021.

... UNITY IS THE PREREQUISITE TO UNSEAT APC IN THE 2023 GENERAL  ELECTION, AS HE MEETS OYO STATE PDP LEADERS ON HIS ONGOING RECONCILIATION AND UNIFICATION AGENDA

As part of his efforts to foster peace, unity and outstanding synergy among Oyo state PDP leaders, the South West PDP, the Vice-chairman, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja has met with some selected leaders of the party in Oyo State.

In attendance were Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, Alhaji Nureni Akanbi, Hon. Femi Babalola, Mallam Yusuf and Michael Ogunlade who are aggrieved one way or the other.

In a statement signed by the Special Assistant on media and publicity to the PDP National Vice Chairman South West, Bamitale Ibrahim made available to news men in Ibadan, Ambassador Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja in his remark hinted that leaders at the level of the meeting should appreciate the fact that one of them that had gone through late Adedibu Political orientation is today occupying the position of National Vice Chairman of the party.

He stressed further that all hands must be on deck to protect the interest of our late leader, Alhaji Ariyibi Adedibu and the need to avoid anything that could cause acrimony should be totally discouraged.

Apparently, Nigerians are eagerly waiting for our party to form the next government that will bring succour to them.

According to him, "it's imperative that we all put our hands on deck for the success of the party as it would be absolutely wrong to continue experiencing crisis in our domiciled state.
"If this trend continues, it's advanced way of writting invitation letter to 2011 experience" he quoted.

"Though, grievances, conflicts and misunderstanding are unavoidable in human institution, the ability to manage ourselves is very essential and it's a best way to discribe family affairs.

2022 Governorship:
Refutal that Senator Biodun Olujimi will not contest.
Published by Ojaomonews
Jide Ojaomo, Ado-Ekiti
July 14th, 2021.

Her Excellency, Senator Biodun Olujimi, her family and numerous well wishers have been inaundated with several phone calls and text messages that she has dropped her intention to contest Ekiti State Governorship in 2020.

This is outright fallacy and misconception of her contribution at a political interractive session held in Ado Ekiti on Sunday, July 11, 2021.

All she said was as a mathematical and scientific politician, the time was not ripe for her to flag off her campaign with the enormity of work ahead of the party.

The PDP, according to her was not yet fully within the Ambit of the Repositioning Movement. The threat from the other faction was still palpable, she said.

There would have been no basis therefore, wasting  precious time she could spend to add values to the areas of the critical needs of the party, with the other leaders, rather than rabble- rousing.

She therefore called on her teeming supporters to maintain their peace, assuring them that she is an unrepentant Advocate of the South Agenda Project for Governorship.

Thank you all

Defection: Sen. Rochas Okorocha Clear Airs, Says Uzodinma Is a Gatecrasher
Published by Ojaomonews
James Oja, Ibadan
July 13th, 2021.

The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has dismissed the report that he has joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The former Imo governor disclosed this in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Sam Onwuemedo, on Tuesday in Oweri.

Okorocha said that the report of his defection was to blackmail him out of his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, by the Imo state government.

He said, “Governor Hope Uzodinma can not and will not blackmail Senator Rochas Okorocha out of the All Progressives Congress, APC. Governor Uzodinma was behind the fake story of Senator Rochas Okorocha leaving the APC for the PDP, last Monday.

“He had come up with the fake story of Okorocha leaving APC because the National Secretariat of the Party had set up a reconciliation committee. And also because of Okorocha’s visit to the National Office of the Party, with men and women who had sacrificed all they had, to make APC the Party to beat in Imo. And with National Assembly members who have the mandate of the people.

“Governor Uzodinma was never a member of APC. He joined APC after he had been announced governor by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court had given the Judgement that the Candidate of APC in the 2019 governorship election was Uche Nwosu. Showing that, Chief Uzodinma was a gatecrasher in APC.”

“Yet, he does not want to be humble about that. He wants those who laboured and blackmailed over APC to leave the party for him. There would not have been APC in Imo today if Okorocha didn’t take the political risk he took to make Imo APC. Governor Uzodinma is reaping where he did not sow and one had expected him to be sober about that.

“But he has continued to use blackmail to see how the party could be abandoned for him. At what point did Chief Uzodinma join APC,” Okorocha said.

LAWAL, who is aspiring to the govership slot of the state in 2022 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic party, claimed that the approval of Onochie would ridicule INEC and fortify rigging in forthcoming elections.

Lawal opined that it was only a credible election that could guarantee peace in the country.

Ekiti2022: PDP Has All It Takes, But The Error We Must Avoid... By Olumuyiwa Oluwadare

Published by Ojaomonews
July 13th, 2021.

I have been in a state of incommunicado for a while but I believe the time has come for me to speak out.

Unless we want to decieve ourselves, going by all indices, from inception of this modern democracy in Nigeria, Ekiti State has been a PDP state. But due to the selfish interest, traitors and dictatorship traits that characterised the leadership of our party, also the manner at which the leaders has no respect for the rule of law and laid down ways of politicking, these put together has put the party in mess over and over again, and if care is not taken, it will end the party "PDP" irreparably.

The party has lost her integrity, savoy and followership among key supporters to the opposition who have nothing to offer than to damage the State and the country with empty promises and zero dividend of democracy.

You will agree with me that all parties have their own issues and internal crises, but divide and rule approach of leadership here is causing the PDP family to loose her loyal members and drags the great tenet of the party into huge mud.

My plight on H.E Ayodele Fayose endorsement of a candidate for the next gubernatorial election is not much..... There is nothing bad in throwing your weight behind your favourite but it is irrational and unpatriotic to anoint one and issue curses on others or in another light, making attempts to break ranks and cordial relationship between aspirants and among member of the party.

Osoko should remember the same error was made in the last election which affected the party from emerging while this character put the whole state and the entire party in comatose and total disarray.

The party has all it takes to retain a continuity cap of PDP, but the same error that was committed is back here again in our fold.

We should be a student of healthy politics, with huge political stories and politicking information at our finger's tip, an adage says a stitch in time saves nine, we should not fall into the same ditch of the past.

The truth must be told, Mr Fayose attitude is an injury to the future of our dear party and the state healthy politics.

A good leader will take his followers to the river side, teach them on how to catch fish, release the fish traps to them after training and then stay back and supervises them to see their level of dexterity in fish hunting.

A leader with attributes of enslaving followers and making himself "lord over all" hardly have loyal followers that can stand the test of time.

I call respectfully, in the spirit of sportsmanship upon Osoko group, Repositioning group and other groups to work hand in hand towards bringing the party back to her first love if truly they want the state and the country back and most especially if they are the patrotic party men and women they claim to be. I strongly believe this can be possible if they are really after the interest of the party and not here for selfish interests.

Whatever that needs to be addressed and trashed out for the progress of the party should be done wisely and urgently. These actions and steps should be a fulcrum on which stability, oneness, peace and harmony will be hinged upon across the party lines, within and outside the state, So that they won't get to the river and start grumbling for covering clothes in the next election.

The beauty of politics is to disagree to agree and any discord should be for love and progress, not for hate and divide.

The party has enough green cards to win the next elections with a lot of red cards already on ground for the ruling party both in the state and across the country, but the inability of the PDP to have cohersion of voice and unity of purpose may cause the party bigger blows than the last election.

In the spiritual language, it is usually said that many are called but few are chosen, while in politics and especially in our fold, I made bold to say "many are gathered but few are sincere"... Let all of us check his sincerity to the cause of this great party.

Let us understand and reason along my plights and passion, because one thing I know for sure is that the future generations are not going to ask us what political party you once belong to or what faction you worked with, they will be more interested to know how we contribute to the good, the bad and the ugly that we are handing over to them.

They will ask if we act to stop and possibly unseat the bad leadership that is paddling the canoes of our political terrain to a capside of a raging sea.

Stay focus, stay safe, lean from the past and let us all move forward together.

Ekiti 2022: South Senatorial District should Produce Guber Candidates ~~ Sola Oluwasiminrin

July 12th, 2021

...Leaders should rally round flag bearer.—

A concerned PDP youth stakeholder in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State has called on his party, PDP to zone its governorship ticket to Ekiti South Senatorial District.

Oluwasimirin in a conversation with the correspondent of Ojaomonews.com said the Ekiti South Senatorial District was the only district that had not produce a governor since the return to democratic rule in 1999.

He argued that it would only be fair to allow the district to produce the next executive Governor of the State of Honour.

This was contained in a statement issued at the end of an interactive session held in Ado-Ekiti with our correspondent on Sunday.

His statement reads, “Having felt the pulse of the entire party members as well as voters in the community, I resolved to fully back the call that the PDP should pick its governorship candidate from Ekiti South Senatorial District. That PDP State Elders, Ekiti South Senatorial PDP elders and all concerned party men should throw their weight behind Ekiti South Senatorial District agenda in the selection of the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the interest of -justice, fair play, equity and party integrity. It is only fair that Ekiti South should be allowed to take its rightful turn. I therefore urge party leaders, stakeholders, women, youths of our dear party to support wholeheartedly the south candidate," Oluwasimirin said."

He further stated that: “The political history of Ekiti at this moment has arrived at a juncture where it must necessarily see the convergence of merit, competence, equity, fairness, and continuity of the giant developmental strides as what is politically correct."

”Without regards to any political affiliation, this fact must be recognised that the best space for any political party to pick a competent, visionary and progressive-minded candidate from is the South Senatorial District."
