S’West PDP condemns opening of factional state office in Oyo
The Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja-led leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-West has condemned the recent opening of a factional state secretariat of the party in Oyo state by some group of people, describing it as illegal and unconstitutional.
According to the communiqué of the meeting which was released by the zonal publicity secretary, Chief Sanya Atofarati on Sunday, the party reiterated the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde in the zone and expressed confidence that the governor would chart a new direction for the party towards achieving victory in future elections.
The communiqué reads,” The party unanimously decided to work in harmony, sink their differences and join hands with the governor with a view to taking the party to the next level.
“All hands must be on deck to rescue the zone from the evil regime, not only in the South-West but in all the 36 states of the federation in 2023.
“The zonal leadership of the party affirmed that only one legally constituted Executive exist in Oyo state and urged members of the party to disregard the illegal factional Secretariat in its entirety and embrace the unification agenda of the Arapaja led executive.”
