"I see it as a clarion call to service but, I still need to consult further, though they don't want to hear the word "consultation" from me as they have been holding meetings, branding face caps and shirts on my behalf".

Osun PDP Crisis Deepens As Oyinlola's LG Protest Against Sen. Adeleke.

Ojaomonews

The internal crisis within the Osun State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took another dimension on Sunday when all party members from all the 15 wards of Odò Otin local government trooped out in hundreds to express their grievances on the harassment recently meted on their leader, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, by supporters of a governorship aspirant.

The party members frowned at the ugly incident which happened last week when Prince Oyinlola visited committee members from the national headquarters of the party in Abuja at Laim Hotel in Osogbo.

They accused a factional chairman of the party, Hon Sunday Bisi, one of the party’s aspirants for the party, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Deji Adeleke to be the brains behind the harassment and condemned the act they described as disgusting.

“We also referenced our leaders like Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, Senator Olu Alabi, Erelu Olusola Obada and others and we will go all out to refuse their being embarrassed by whosoever,” the protesters said.

The PDP members were armed with placards with different inscriptions that read “We will resist all attempts by anybody to rubbish our leaders”, “They are elders of honour with impeccable character” and “we not take it lightly with who attacks Oyinlola.”

The protesters who converged on Okuku palace square besides the community town hall around 2 pm equally displayed leaves in annoyance to express their displeasure on the development.

While addressing the gathering, Hon. Lekan Oyediran, a former member of the state House of Assembly said, “Our leader was attacked in Osogbo while visiting the committee sent by the national headquarters. By the time he was about to drive in there, a faction of the PDP led by Adeleke, sponsored an attack on him.

“If not for the security agents. If not because of the quick intervention of security agents, only God knows what would have happened. Oyinlola is a person that has respect for elders, that is why they asked us to allow peace.

“Nobody has a monopoly of violence. The National Working Committee must be unbiased. Our elders must be respected. Senator Ayu should not follow the step of the disgraced Secondus.”

In her own speech at the programme, a community leader, Deaconess Funmilayo Adebisi, remarked that “We are protesting because of the harassment of our leader in this local government and Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

“Some days ago, they attacked him and we are so furious about it. This man has been so good to so many people even those that attacked him, he has been helpful to them in one way or the other.

“We want the Inspector General of Police to look into it and make sure that the perpetrators are brought to book. We know that the attack was sponsored by Ademola Adeleke, Deji Adeleke and their cohorts.”

Also speaking, Alhaji Rasaq Oyelami said, “all traditional rulers and people of this local government condemn the attack on our leader. When they have not voted delegates that will elect the governorship candidate, there shouldn’t be an attack on anybody. They called him a thief and a betrayer what did he steal from them?”

Breaking: Alafin of Oyo reconcile Tinubu and Aregbesola

    Ojaomonews
    Feb 20, 2022

The warring duo of APC National leader,Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his political ally,The former governor of Osun State and Minister for Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, were present at the palace of Alaafin of Oyo, HRM Oba Lamidi Adeyemi in Oyo town, Oyo State today.

The duo and their loyalists have been at war over the control of APC state structure in Osun state where Aregbesola held sway as governor for 8years with Adegboyega Oyetola said to be Tinubu’s brother who operated behind the scenes in Osun State politics for several years before he was elected to take over from Aregbesola who felt slighted because he desires someone else for the governorship position. Governor Oyetola was Aregbesola’s Chief Of Staff while he was governor.

Things took a dramatic turn few weeks ago when the Minister during an official visit to Osun state declared that APC is divided into 2 in the state. He said, “for those that doesn’t know, they should know today. APC has divided into two here. The recognised Chairman of Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola’s APC is AbduRasaq Salinsile.

“Everybody is doing his or her own. When it is time, we will renegotiate, we will rearrange everything.

“The caucus that produced our faction is called ‘The Osun Progressives’ (TOP) chaired by Elder Lowo Adebiyi. Those that said they didn’t know where I belong to, they should open there ears and listen. I belong to the TOP wholeheartedly.”

The state party primary election to pick the candidate to represent the party in the July 2022 guber election took place yesterday with the incumbent governor casting a soar away victory over Aregbesola’s candidate the former Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti, who Aregbesola insisted will emerge as next governor of Osun state.

This is as he said the party is back in the hands of true progressives who will work assiduously to win in the July 16 governorship election and openly denounced relationship with incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Supporters of Gov Oyetola and by extension Tinubu’s loyalists took to the streets with a mock coffin signaling the death of Aregbesola’s political dynasty in Osun state.

Ojaomonews obtained learnt that attempts made in the past to reconcile the 2 south west politicians met with brick-wall till the meeting holding at the Alaafin palace now. It is hoped that the meeting will bring an end to the bitter war going on in the two camps .he

Eddy Olafeso's hateful outbursts reckless, unwarranted ~S'West PDP

The South West PDP has reacted to Dr. Eddy Olafeso, former  National Vice Chairman of the party's recent attack on the party leadership in the zone.

    In a release signed by the PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary Chief Sanya Atofarati, the party states that;

It is an act of mindless impunity and sheer recklessness on the part of Dr Eddy Olafeso to speak ill of a party that has tolerated his seeming inadequacies over time.

Recalled that the inglorious tenure of Eddy Olafeso as Southwest National Vice Chairman plunged the party into such unending crisis that the PDP lost all the South West states to the APC until the emergence of Governor Seyi Makinde who is trying to bring sanity to the rot created by Olafeso and his co-travellers.

It should be noted that whoever comes to equity should do so with clean hands. Olafeso lacks the moral justification to comment on matters that bothers on integrity as it is in the public knowledge that in 2020, Eddy Olafeso did not only worked against the PDP but  supervised the defeat of the party in the Governorship election in Ondo State.

This is in addition to mounting allegations of financial malfeasance running into millions of naira levelled against him during his tenure which had rendered the party under his watch in comatose during the last Ondo state gubernatorial election.

It takes a bad loser like Olafeso to still be nursing bitterness in an election which he lost fair and square and where he congratulated the winner but still making insinuation that he was robbed of victory. A true democrat should see election as a contest where the majority carries the day.

The South West PDP remains a united family under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Soji Adagunodo-led exco to reposition and work assiduously in taking over the governance of Ekiti and Osun States and therefore refused to be distracted by Olafeso's hateful and unwarranted outbursts.
