After Much Eye service Displayed By Oni, Fayose Frankly Told Him; I Haven't Endorsed Your Gov Ambition

Former Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, said on Sunday evening that he had not endorsed the 2022 governorship ambition of an ex-governor, Chief Segun Oni.

Fayose had on Saturday, during a Peoples Democratic Party congress, officially received Oni, who had earlier left the party for All Progressives Congress before returning recently.

Fayose, in a series of tweets, urged members of his group, the Osoko Political Family, to accord Oni with all respect, saying that “does not represent or amount to an endorsement of Oni’s gubernatorial ambition”.

He tweeted, “To my brothers and sisters in the PDP Osoko Political Family, having formally received Engr Segun Oni into the PDP at yesterday’s (Saturday’s) State Congress, henceforth, nobody should castigate, embarrass or undermine him (Oni) on any social media platforms associated with Osoko Political Family

“True leadership is demonstrated by forgiveness, followed by restoration after a show of true humility. However, this statement does not represent or amount to an endorsement of Engr Segun Oni’s gubernatorial ambition.

“Rather, it is part of our sincere efforts to keep the party together and accommodate everyone, except those members who are due for political perdition.” Punch

Shocking: Journalists shun Fani-Kayode’s press conference.

The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom chapter has directed its members to boycott a press conference planned for a former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode.

In a statement on Friday, the chapter asked journalists not to attend any activity organised by the former Minister.
Fani-Kayode, who is in Akwa-Ibom, had insulted a reporter with DailyTrust, Eyo Charles, for asking him who was bankrolling his nationwide trips in Cross River last week.

The ex-Minister, who began a tour of some states, especially those controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) states in July, visited Cross River last week.
He poured vituperations on the reporter, disparaging him as “very stupid”.

“I could see from your face before you got here, how stupid you are. Don’t ever talk to me like that. Who do you think you’re talking to? Bankroll who?

“You think I am one of those ones you… from who, when, how? You have a small mind, a very small mind. Don’t judge me by your own standards,” he had said.
His comments had generated widespread criticism from many Nigerians and groups, including the NUJ which described him as “intolerant and unstable”.

FFK, THE REPLICA OF LERE PAIMO OF SAWORO-IDE ~~ By Aladesanmi Oyekanmi

The reminiscences of a popular yoruba drama tittled saworoide came to the fore as Nigerians continue to drill a deep thought on femi fani kayode's drama durring a press conference on Tuesday in cross rivers state.

In the drama, a journalist asked chief lere paimo how he acquired the fleet of cars in his compound, instead of chief paimo to explain in a clear term, he pounced on the innocent journalist, calling him a stupid man and he was whisked out of chief paimo 's compound.

The scene is just an exact replica of how former minister of aviation, femi fani kayode threw caution into the wind and displayed his real character.

Was anybody bankrolling you? That was  what Eyo Charles of daily trust newspaper asked femi fani kayode, but for the latter to answer logically, it was a festival of abuse.

Even if FFK, As foundly called was being bankrolled or not, this piece believes he must have attended one or two leadership trainings where he would have been taught how to be logical and strategic in dealing with official issues.

No Nigerian needs an angel to prove that femi fani kayode openly displayed his domestic character in place of his official attitude.

Only God knows how he talks and behaves to his immediate family members.

FFK should be reminded that no question is bad, particularly from a trained journalist, it is how such question is being answered that proves the worthiness of such question.

A print journalist once asked former governor Rasheed Ladoja of oyo state when he was contesting that " chief Ladoja, don't u think u are too ugly to govern the state"? And chief ladoja, in a spirit of tolerance, answered the question logically and convincingly.

Few years ago, a broadcast journalist asked former governor Rauf Aregbesola of what happened to the much-celebrated opon imo project, which of course had gone moribund, Ogbeni Aregbesola's answer ignited applause, even when people knew his defence was watery.

Were those questions not more irritating than that of Eyo Charles?

Femi Fani kayode needs to be brushed in the area of his situational public speaking abilities, what happened on Tuesday was more of moral than of diplomacy.

The national body of members of the pen profession should not sweep the issue under the carpet, an injustice to one is an injustice to all.

No amount of damage control strategy, put up by the former minister should stop the NUJ from letting power-drunk FFK know that pen is mightier than gun.

This piece wants other Nigerian politicians, who are always rude, to learn t
heir lessons from what will be the aftermath of femi fani kayode's action.

He represents an eye sore in the Nigerian political platform even when he claims to have joined politics since 1990, who cares?.

Political maturity only speaks when those in the platform have matured minds.

The Piece is Written by Aladesanmi oyekanmi, an akure based broadcast journalist.

Ex Ekiti Gov Fayose Accused In Oyo PDP Attack

The chairman of the Pacesetter Transport Services, Mr. Dare Adeleke was on Monday attacked by some stakeholders at the National secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja.

OYOINSIGHT had on Monday reported that Adeleke, an ally of Governor Seyi Makinde, has been appointed as the Secretary of the screening committee for the primary election of the PDP ahead of the bye-elections in the state.

However, in a twist of events, Adeleke was attacked and beaten at the party’s secretariat when he went to pick up his appointment letter.

In a letter to the National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, he demanded that those who attacked him should face disciplinary actions.

Narrating how he was attacked, he wrote: “on this day, Monday 24 August 2020, I arrived the People Democratic Party National Secretariat at Wadata House, Zone 5 at exactly 10:00 am to attend to a certain official duty as I was secretary of the Screening Committee for the Senatorial bye-elections in Cross River State North Senatorial District.

” I entered the office of the National Organizing Secretary of the party to receive my appointment letter where I met the Chairman of the Screening Committee in the company of some people.

“On receiving my appointment letter from the secretary of the NOS I was suddenly attacked by Barrister Alphonsus Eba, Hon. Chris Njar Mbu and three others, raining blows and slaps on me and in the process tore my shirt. In confusion, I struggled to escape from my attackers as they snatched my appointment letter and other documents I was holding. It took the intervention of the Policemen and security personnel at the party secretary to rescue me from my assailants.”

He also revealed that he was threatened never to come to Cross Rivers state otherwise he would be killed.

OYOINSIGHT gathered from an impeccable source that the attack on the lawmaker was instigated by a faction of the party loyal to former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose

Ize-Iyamu Reveals His Plans, If He Loss The Election.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Edo State governorship elections, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has insisted he is not desperate to become governor.
Ize-Iyamu previously contested in 2016 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but lost to the incumbent, Godwin Obaseki, who was then the APC candidate.
However, both men have switched parties ahead of next month’s polls.
Ize-Iyamu, speaking to journalists on Thursday, said if he loses, he will head to the courts and not instigate violence.
“A man who genuinely wants to serve cannot be desperate. It is not compulsory that I should be the governor.

“If God wills, I will win. I assure you that if I lose the election, the worst that can happen is that I will go to court but I won’t resort to violence. We have warned our supporters against violence,” he said

Aisha Buhari And Her Daughter Reportedly Escaped Death

First Lady Aisha Buhari and her daughter, Hanan reportedly escaped death when the private jet they are travelling on lost control for about 10 minutes.
Returning to Nigeria on Friday after shopping in Dubai, the private jet with registration number GIV N52MK belonging to her in-law, billionaire Mohammed Indimi, lost complete control for 10 minutes while only one hour away from approaching the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

According to SaharaReporters, they needed medical treatment and examination in the hospital after the aircraft safely landed.

The President’s wife is said to be in good health, however.

Recall that Aisha Buhari was reported to have been flown to Dubai neck pain treatment. A source close the First family disclosed that the First Lady had travelled under the guise of health emergency so as not to raise eyebrows for violating the restriction on international flight due to coronavirus.
It was gathered that the main purpose of the journey was to shop for luxury items in preparation for the wedding of her daughter, Hanan.
It was gathered that President Buhari had met with the family of Hanan’s fiancée for further arrangements and other processes forming part of the occasion to be put in place before the wedding.
“It was well planned, her neck doctor is in London not Dubai. She travelled to shop for luxury items ahead of Hanan’s wedding.
“There is presently a ban on international flights by the government except it is essential, so the best way for her to travel was under the guise of medical treatment,” the source said.
The marriage is billed to take place on September 4, 2020, inside the Presidential Villa.

Ekiti 2022: Outrage in Ekiti as Fayose group splits over anti Eleka Governorship comment

There have been uneasy calm in the Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a group said to be loyal to the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose have split   and had consequently resulted in verbal attacks over a comment made by Fayose which indicated his plan to disengage his Former Deputy, Professor Olusola Eleka from contesting the 2022 governorship in the state.

Fayose was recently quoted to have said, "There will be no 'South Agenda' in Ekiti 2022", saying the rotational arrangement in the party was not only undemocratic but also unconstitutional.

He maintained that, " On Ekiti Agenda We Stand'. Any Other Agenda is self serving and negates our collective interest and fair representation. It is sponsored by weak and narrow minded politicians and driven by political extortionist."

Fayose had, in 2018, in a failed mission, unilaterally fielded Professor Eleka, who is from the South Senatorial District of the state, for the governorship seat in an election which was lost to the Kayode Fayemi of APC.

In what seems like a rude shock and huge disappointment to the Former Deputy Governor Eleka, an ally who crave anonymity expressed displeasure in the Fayose's decision to strip off Eleka from contesting the 2022 governorship election in Ekiti.

The Eleka ally said, "It was a friend who called my attention to the comment. At first I didn't believe it because I was still at the Magodo residence of Oga(Fayose) last weekend and there was no insight to such decision. Then I called few associates who latter confirmed it as Osoko's position. That is obviously unfair."

Another member of the Fayose group said, "Some of us never trusted Fayose at anytime but for our hope in the likes of Eleka and Barr Anisulowo and few others, we decided to forge ahead. 'On South Agenda we stand'. But if this singular struggle will set us against Fayose, so be it. We, especially, from the South Senatorial District will stop at nothing to see end to Fayose's dictatorship in Ekiti PDP.

Stressing that, "it is unbelievably sad that Oga Fayose could shamelessly admitted the fact that he is indeed a 'Political Extortionist'. He thought we are all myopic. In 2018 he told the people of Ekiti state that is it was fair enough on the account of equity to allow the South Senatorial District have their own share of representation in the governance of Ekiti and upon which we all supported his unilateral decision of fielding Eleka and as against the population decision of the party leaders. We all supported him, but now that he has successfully extorted the poor Eleka, and has started extorting others like General Adetayo of 100 million naira, Kayode Osho, Deji Ogunsakin and others of their hard earned resources.

Can you imagine that Fayose seized the governorship ticket of the PDP and the general election to extort Eleka and ensure he was financially drained to the extent that he could not roof the only one Bungalow he managed to build throughout his four year tenure as Deputy Governor". She added.

Opinion: "The Insanity Of Fayose By Disrespecting Yoruba Elders”

Yorubas, by extension Africans, are renown for respectfully revering their Elders, both indoor and in the public, in words and in actions. However, one gets to wonder what is amiss when one views the conducts of His Excellency, former Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, who at every available opportunity, recklessly throws decorum to the winds.
For the avoidance of doubt, in the last few weeks, I have read with extreme disbelief many of his impish public releases against two of our revered Elders of Yoruba nation. Most especially is the worthless statement released on his official twitter handle against the Atoona Odua (Pathfinder) of Yorubaland, High Chief Olabode Ibiyinka George.
Across Party or Ethnic afflictions, it is now general belief that Dr Fayose’s penchant for disrespecting Elders and reputable leaders of note, has turned into insanity and the set of people who elicit pity, are our so called Lagosians, who condemn Tinubu with utmost hatred because he is an atowunrinwa, kneeling on our necks in Lagos, but now trying to worship this disrespectful Ekiti man, as their leader. I simply cannot fathom what to ascribe this to, is it greed or covetousness?
It is even funny that Fayose’s treachery is coming up again at a time the masses are well prepared for an Otoge in Lagos State, and some PDP elements are trying to pull another alaileko to Lagos as their Leader. What a shame, what an irony of fate for some Yorubas. Though, the Ekitis are known to be cultured, it is unfortunate that Ayo is very uncultured. No doubt, many affirmed that some people simply lack moral values, neither do they have pictures of the elderly ones in their family.

Dare Adeleke Bombs Fayose over Irresponsible Remarks on Chief Bode George

I Took Fayose To Bode George When He Had No Money

A chieftain of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Executive Chairman of the Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company, Hon. Dare Adeleke has described former Governor or Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose as an ingrate.

Adeleke was reacting to statements made by Fayose asking PDP leader and elder statesman, Chief Bode George, to go and rest. Fayose had stated that he was quoted out of context with regards to the on-coming elections in Edo State.

Fayose, who crested to power under the PDP twice as governor of Ekiti State had insinuated in a published statement credited to him that he was not in support of the Edo PDP candidate and sitting governor, Godwin Obaseki.

Chief Bode George reacted swiftly by telling party members to disregard Fayose’s statement as it did not reflect the position of the party and blasted Fayose for going against the PDP he had benefited immensely from.

In the same vein, Adeleke wonders how Fayose could be so ungrateful to a benefactor who contributed to his emergence as governor, not once but twice.

He recounts that when Fayose had no money or political clout, it was Chief Bode George who stood by him.

“I took Fayose to Bode George in 2003 when he had no money and Chief Bode George supported him and influenced Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to back Fayose in place of S.K Babalola”.

Adeleke wonders why Fayose will claim Chief George did not contribute financially to his political growth, when indeed Chief Bode George gave him N10million (Ten Million Naira) and got his friend, Chief Bode Olajumoke to donate to Fayose’s campaign.

A miffed Adeleke advised Fayose to check himself very well: “I am surprised he can now open his mouth to tell Bode George to retire, to the extent of saying he ordinarily wouldn’t have dignified Chief George with a reply. Imagine, how ungrateful can anyone become? How much lower can Fayose go? Ungrateful to the man who helped him politically, ungrateful to the party through which he became governor twice.” Adeleke notes that “twice Fayose was made governor under the PDP, twice he handed over to APC; is that not ridiculous enough? He needs to check himself”.

Adeleke says people should stop taking Fayose seriously as he is only romancing the APC because of his case with the EFCC.

“Fayose is simply looking for reprieve and support from the APC to save himself from the case of fraud filed against him”. Adeleke emphasises.

The Pacesetter boss has warned that the Bode George camp will drag Fayose to court over statements he made regarding a certain audio tape: “Fayose claims he has an audio tape of negative comments Chief Bode George made against Ekiti, Rivers and Osun elections. I challenge him to produce the tape now or he should be ready to face the courts of the land for defamation and character assassination, among other.

The Ballyhoo Of
Kayode Fayemi's Six Years - by Lanre Ogunsuyi

- Beyond the Excrescences of an APC government in Ekiti

- Asides from the ballyhoo of John Kayode Fayemi's Six years in saddle in Ekiti,  nothing concrete has been achieved in people oriented programs and projects.

The recumbency of the APC government at the center in Abuja is replicated in Ado-Ekiti with more ferocity. Workers that have not been sacked are owed salaries in areas of up to a year, the traders illegally evicted from the State Pavilion remain locked out, not to mention the Modern Market which has remained locked and the traders for whom it was built remain in the sun and rain, (in hope that it will be handed to them).

After selling several (un)employment forms, it remains a conjecture when the first batch will be absorbed. Ekiti is under siege from a Mephistopheles running a uniquely egregious, deceitful government.

Little wonder then that the proclivities of the people is towards the PDP in the country as a whole and particularly in Ekiti State. To own the streets again we must be aggressive, not concentrically but extraneously, every PDP member is my brother, and every APC member is my enemy. (Politically).

We in PDP should hold our heads high, we have run the State for eleven fruitful years in Ekiti. EVERYTHING (or almost) people oriented is our project. Our infrastructural stride is indubitably sui generis , unmatchable by this jiggery pockery contraption of the APC, our Governors,  Senators, MHRs , MHAs , Coucillors, have always been high flyers in human relations...

The recent COVID19 palliative initiative of our only serving Senator serves as a clear testimony to this assertion.
2022 should be terminus of JKF government in Ekiti. You and I can and must do it, we have done it before. Let us dwell more on the future and jettison the pains and pangs of the yesteryears, if there is any member who feels he is owed an apology, let him/her write it off as bad debt. No one person can die twice, no matter how tall. No single tree can make a thick forest, no single person can vote himself in, in an election,  let us therefore sing a new song, let us take the battle to APC, we are tested, we removed them before, we should again.

Fanikayode's Occupation Is "Talking After Inducement", CrossRivers PDP Stakeholders Alleges.

Jonathan Ugbal
The National Assembly members in Cross River State have have accused the Governor, Benedict Ayade of funding the campaign of President Muhammadu Buhari despite being in the opposition.
The state has eleven National Assembly positions. 10 are occupied by Mr. Ayade’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The members in a statement issued on Wednesday, however stopped short of directly accusing the Governor of carrying out anti party activities.
Mr. Ayade has been at loggerheads with 9 out of the 10 PDP National Assembly members in the state over the control of the party.
Following a perceived upheaval of the party’s core by the Governor, a stalwart of the party in Osun state, Mr Oluwafemi Fani-Kayode had warned that attempts to frustrate Mr. Ayade will mean his exit from the PDP.
It would be a big mistake for the National Working Commitee of the PDP to take the party structures in his state away…

And, the National Assembly in Cross River, in their reply said Mr. Fani-Kayode’s occupation was “talking,” after inducements.
They told Mr. Fani-Kayode to ask Mr. Ayade “salient questions” instead of throwing “tantrums” at those who sustain the party while he sits idly.
“The National Assembly members from Cross River State are astonished that Fani Kayode can get so ballistic on a matter, he knows nothing about.
“He throws tantrums at the people that have sustained the Party, while he is on sabbatical.
“We thought he was going to ask Governor Ayade certain salient questions before dabbling into the Cross River State matter.
“Did he ask Ayade why he contributed two billion naira (NGN2,000,0000.00), to the APC in the 2019 Elections?
“Did Fani Kayode ask him why he supported Hope Uzodinma in Imo State against EMEKA Ihedioha of PDP in the last Governorship Election in Imo State?
“Did he ask Ayade why he sent NGN5 million only, in December last year to the Party, as a Seating Governor after so much pressure?
“Did he ask Ayade if he could win Cross River State for PDP without the NASS Members?
“Did he ask Ayade if he had at least 50% of the structures OR not, bearing in mind that there are other stakeholders and we are in a Democracy?
“Finally, we think that Fani Kayode should brief us on the standing of the Party in his own State, if he is on ground. We know that the PDP is very weak in his State, so he should go and put his State together for the Party.
“Fani Kayode’s main Occupation at the moment is “talking “ but he should choose when and what to talk about, inspite of the inducements.

Fayose Threatened To Jail Ex-president Obasanjo

Ayodele Fayose, former Ekiti State Governor, on Tuesday, threatened to jail ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo if he becomes President of Nigeria.

Fayose explained that he would send Obasanjo back to prison if he becomes President for alleged grievous infractions committed against Nigeria.

He charged Obasanjo to disclose how he got the money to develop Ota farm where he resides.
Fayose also alleged that the former President tried to push for a third term.
According to Fayose: “Let me tell you, Obasanjo has made hate speech and should be brought to book by this government. I pray one day I will become President of this country by God’s grace. Obasanjo will go back to prison. I’m telling you the truth because there are so many things Obasanjo must be questioned about.
“Obasanjo is not a saint when he came out of prison his farm at Ota was in shambles. But, today, it is back to life. Where did the money for resuscitating the once ailing farm come from? It was from the government.
“For the library, all Governors at that time contributed 10 million naira each to support Obasanjo by force. The third term is still fresh in our memory.”

The communiqué, which was signed by the Chairman and Secretary, Archbishop Anthony J.V. Obinna, and Most Rev. Augustine T. Ukwuoma, centred on several national issues, including security, education and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Bearing in mind that no economic or educational endeavour can thrive in a volatile and unsafe environment, the security and safety of the nation at large and Igboland in particular, deserve special attention," the clerics said
They stressed that recent and frequent cases of displacement and unlawful occupation of farmlands of indigenes by marauding herdsmen call for concern.
From January to July 2020, at least 178 persons were killed in local government areas of Southern Kaduna, data from Civic Media Lab's life count and media report of killings gathered by SaharaReporters show.
Gunmen of Fulani ethnicity reportedly perpetrated most of the attacks.
"Kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, incessant killings, which have continued unabated, cast serious doubts on the willingness and capability of our security outfits to rise to their constitutional responsibilities," the Catholic Bishops said.
They called on the governors of Imo and the Abia States, "to protect the lives of our people, their homes and their lands".
The clerics urged the people to "rise in prayer to God in vigilance and legitimate self-defence, for the right to life, to our homes and our lands, is God-given".
Addressing the issues related to the coronavirus, the bishops said nothing in recent memory had shaken the world like the pandemic.
"Amidst the unprecedented panic, tension and confusion provoked by the Covid-19 pandemic, and in the face of the resurgent insecurity in our land and across the nation, we have every reason to thank God, who has kept us alive by his mercy," the bishops said.
The bishops reaffirmed that COVID-19 is real, noting that the governments, on their part, should rise to their responsibility of ensuring adequate provisions of basic amenities like running water.
They said, "Particular attention should be paid to improving our poor healthcare facilities, making provision for more testing centres with affordable services and enough personal protective equipment, for our healthcare workers."
On the effect of the pandemic on education, the Bishops added, "The pandemic has also impacted negatively on our educational system. Our schools at all levels have been closed for months. With everybody at home, there has been an increase in domestic violence, abuses and all sorts of crimes.
"The inadequacy of our educational system and formation have been laid bare. Some climes have tried to bridge the gap through online education. Unfortunately, we lack the necessary infrastructure to key in, except in a handful of places and schools.
"This is a challenge for all stakeholders in education. The billions of naira embezzled regularly could be gainfully used in meeting these challenges."

Society News: Akinbode Seizes Birth Anniversary To Advocate For Peaceful Ekiti PDP

All internet media leading to Igbara-Odo Ekiti in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti state on Monday, August 10, 2020, witnessed gridlock as the PDP chairman in the LG, Mr Idowu Akinbode, marked in ground style the anniversary of his birth with movers and shakers of the state's economy and politics in attendance.

Akinbode, the former Secretary to ESWLG under the Segun Oni/PDP led administration and who later became the Caretaker chairman of the LG upon the termination of appointment of the then council boss, Hon. Mrs Dupe Ogundipe, has been described as a loyal party man.

Akinbode's political career have begun to soar high since he joined politics at his tender age. This many constituents have attributed to his political tolerance, doggedness, commitment and especially, his unwavering loyalty to democratic norms.

Akinbode who currently holds the strategic position of the Chairman of PDP local government party Chairmen had used the occasion of his birth to solicit for peaceful coexistence amongst his PDP members in Ekiti state.

Akinbode had during a media chat in Ado Ekiti on Monday, appealed to the leaders and stakeholders of the party at all levels, especially the major contenders within the state's chapter of the party, in persons of Ex-Gov. Ayo Fayose and Her Excellency, Senator Biodun Olujimi to, in the overall interest of the party faithfuls, close ranks to enable strategic and workable planning towards taking back the governance of Ekiti state in 2022 general election from those he described as "directionless APC/Fayemi-led government".

He therefore called on all well meaning leaders and members of Ekiti PDP to as a matter of urgency come together to rescue the seemingly sinking opposition party in the state.

He noted that Ekiti PDP has the perquisites to win the 2022 governorship election in the state. He thence called for genuine reconciliation among party members.

Akinbode said, "Words have failed me in expressing my sincere gratitude to all leaders and members of our great party, PDP, particularly for your show of love as extended to me, today, as I marked the anniversary of my birth. I want to seize the privilege to call on all our major political actors in the Ekiti PDP to please, in the interest of our younger generation and those whose destiny and future political career depends on the decisions made today by the aforementioned leaders, close their ranks so that Ekiti PDP can come out from its present crisis, formidable and stronger.

Akinbode however appreciated the PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secundus and the NWC for their relentless efforts to ensure unity among the party leaders and stakeholders in view to returning back power to the people both at the state and national levels, respectively.

After Eight Years As Governor, Fayose Still Struggling To Wrestle Powers With Me ~~ Olujimi Alleges

  •  Fayose who was governor for eight years would be struggling to wrestling powers with ordinary Senator

Former Senate Minority Leader Biodun Olujimi has denied speculations she was planning to dump the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Olujimi, who described the alleged plan as figment of imagination of mischief makers, said she remains a committed member of the PDP and would never dump the opposition party under any guise.
Addressing journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, the PDP chieftain alleged the speculation was handiwork of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, who she said is bent on smearing her ‘soaring political relevance’ in Ekiti PDP and at the national level.
The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District said Fayose and his cohorts had resorted to campaign of calumny because she was opposed to his tyrannical and dictatorial style in the management of Ekiti PDP.
She added Fayose was trying to take advantage of her gender to sideline her from the management team of the party, even when she has given her best to the growth and service of both the party and the state.
Olujimi, who dismissed the claim that she was trying to hijack Ekiti PDP from the ex-governor, said she was prevailed upon by some concerned leaders of the party across the 16 Council areas of the state to provide leadership that was lacking in the state chapter.
She said: “I believe it is what we do that will make people believe in us. What happened is that some people came together and said they want a new leadership.
“I didn’t compel anyone. They came and said they needed a breath of fresh air, a new beginning and inclusiveness and then we started a movement, which gathered so much momentum to such an extent that they believe that we are eroding the ground upon which they, the former governor’s men, stand.

“I wonder why Fayose who was governor for eight years would be struggling to wrestling powers with ordinary Senator.
“The bottom line is that if you have done well, you won’t need to wrestle at all. Fayose that I worked with and I had great respect for? How did he lose it? He needs to answer that”.
The PDP chieftain noted the party belongs to every member and thus would not leave it for the ex-governor and his ‘disillusioned group of renegades’ who had no stake in the party.
She added her interest had always been to strengthen the party from the states to ward levels and wrestle power from APC in 2022 through collegiate leadership where every member would be participating in the decision making process.
“For me, contrary to insinuation, I am wholly PDP through and through. They tried to brand me APC because I worked well with people, especially Mrs. Fayemi.
“We have met at different fora including the UN. I see her as a leading light on gender issues but I differ with her when it comes to issues of politics,” she stressed.
On the allegation she was scheming for the 2022 governorship, Olujimi said there was nothing that precludes her from participating in the governorship election of her state.
“Nothing at all. I have paid my dues and done what I am supposed to do in Ekiti.
“I am eminently qualified to participate. Don’t forget that I participated in the 2018 governorship election,” she said.
