Olujimi Slams Adeyeye Over Weaving Falsehood And Lies To Curry Sympathy.

PRESS RELEASE.

1) My attention was drawn to a slanderous, mischievous and malicious write up by some lawyers and members of the Apc imputing that judgement was purchased in my case at the Ekiti Senatorial Tribunal and Appeal.
My initial reaction was to say am not a member of their party and to allow them steam in their sauces

2) On second thoughts, i felt, they and their co travellers might misconstrue silence to be admission of guilt.
Let me make it clear, that at no time before,  during and after the trial have i met with nor discussed the case with the Gov of Ekiti state Dr Kayode Fayemi.

3) As a committed party person, i saw the allusion to the fact that Gov Fayemi negotiated the judiciary on my behalf as an insult, not only to my integrity, but that of the noble judges who i never met but were fearless in the discharge of justice despite the odds and of course, on the Governor whose preoccupation is only about his party.

4) I will not hold brief for anyone but state that my case against Prince Adeyeye was straight forward. It was on the issue of my stolen mandate bordering on voodoo votes that were added to give him victory.

5) It was an issue of sorting real ballots from 'the rest' and counting them in the presence of Inec officials, Police, DSS and Lawyers of both parties. In fact, after the recounting of the real votes of 2 local governments,  it was clear that the game was up.

6) Prince Adeyeye had a competent team of lawyers who tried all they could but who in their minds know we were proactive and scrutinized every move. He must point out where judgement was purchased because he lost unanimously at the Tribunal and at Appeal.

7) Rather than ask for forgiveness from God and look inwards in order to correct his ways, Prince Adeyeye is still reeling in the stupor of his loss to be able to make such spurious, unethical, uncouth defamatory statement against their Lordships! He had assumed that being a member of the ruling party immuned him from the discovery of falsified votes.

8) It smacks of bad faith, incompetence and ridicule of the judiciary and legal profession. It is a great pity and i hope the NJC takes note and acts accordingly.

9) Prince Adeyeye was riddled with controversy in the PDP. He left and joined the APC, got waiver and ticket immediately from the Governor to contest the Senatorial seat only to turn to an adversary within a year. That speaks volume of his person.

10) It is sickening to find people weaving falsehood and lies and believing same in order to curry sympathy.

11) I hope the signatories to the document will take note and retract it so that the falsehood told them does not become their albatross.
For the umpteenth time, i am not a member of the APC and will never seek refuge from my enemies. Dr Kayode Fayemi is the governor of Ekiti state and i will accord him his due respect as i have done for others before him, it doesn't make me a member of his party but a properly raised adult.

12) Thank u.

'Biodun Olujimi
Senator, Ekiti South

Today, we are again, establishing a new beginning, a new relationship, a new leadership particularly in the development and preservation of our traditions.

Every country in the world has its own festival and it's tradition to them. People all over the world gather during festivals to celebrate and also want to share pleasant times. Ise Ekiti is not exceptional. Ogbese festival is an annual festival in the ancient town of Ise Ekiti, Ekiti state Nigeria. The festival is the celebration of water and water is life. We are using the festival to reconnect with our creator and accentors, it is unfair to call Ogbese devotees an idol worshippers because Christ himself performed His first miracle with water.

The festival is annually hosted by the Elemo Family headed by my humble self (HIGH CHIEF OMOTUNDE PAUL). The Festival is a massive celebration that offers lots of foods, drinks, dance and music in honor and remembrance of Ogbese (Aba eye, aja murugbon wole) contribution and her protection during War. We can not celebrate this year festival as planned due to the covid-19 pandemic and in strictly compliance with the Ekiti state government directive and guildlines to curb the further spread of the deadly virus, we have restricted the number of invitees to such a sizable crowd you're witnessing today.

OGBESE FESTIVAL is usually celebrated around the Ember months, especially during the rainy season. Ogbese festival tells a message pertaining to our customs, traditional values, mythology and culture. During this festival, we invoke the spirit of our ancestor (Ogbese) in prayer for King (The Arinjale of Ise kingdom) and also offer prayer for people of Ise - Kingdom , Ekiti state, Nigeria and the world at large for peace, progress and favor of God "ELEDUMARE".

Honestly there is nothing wrong with celebrating our culture and festival; we are the one attaching evil to them while it is pure and divine.

We appreciate our Kabiesi, the Paramount ruler of Ise-Kingdom, HRM Oba (Dr) David. A. Ajayi. JP,MON,PhD. Aweloye II. The Arinjale of Ise kingdom for his exemplary leadership which has accorded many of us (Clan Heads) the privilege to contribute our quoter into our respective communities.

Delta APC Mock Uduagha: He Came Alone, Left Alone...

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressive Congress has said former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan who dumped the party to return to the Peoples Democratic Party won’t be missed because he didn’t add value to the APC when he joined.

The former governor Uduaghan had on Monday dumped the APC for the PDP after barely two years of joining the APC.

In a statement s by its Publicity Secretary, Sylvester Imonina, on Tuesday, the APC said, ‘For record purposes, the former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan came into APC as a loner and has left to where he came from the same way.

“In politics, and in line with freedom of association as guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As amended), he has the right to choose whosoever to associate with for whatever reasons.

“He should not forget the fact that when PDP was uninhabitable for him, he was housed by the Delta APC despite the fact that he did not come to APC with anybody under the guise of being a self-acclaimed ‘John the Baptist’ which eventually proved to be a deceitful mission.”

Imonina said Delta APC “will not miss him in any way because APC accommodated him out of compassion as an orphaned politician displaced by the same PDP he has returned to. We wish him well.”

Ondo2020: Many injured as PDP, APC supporters clash

Supporters of the candidates of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) again clashed on Tuesday at Ipele and Owo towns leaving several persons injured and vehicles damaged.

Both parties have confirmed the clash, with each accusing the other of masterminding the attacks.

A statement by Kayode Fasua, the spokesman for the Eyitayo Jegede campaign, said the convoy of the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, was attacked in Ipele and Owo township in Owo Local Government “by heavily armed APC political thugs.”

Mr Fasua also said the victim was rushed to the state’s specialist hospital in Akure.

According to him, two other PDP supporters, Taye Akintufede and Seun Ogunlade, were also shot.

“Besides, some of our campaign vehicles were damaged, as was witnessed in Oba-Akoko community recently,” the PDP campaign spokesman said.

“One of the convoy’s campaign trucks was completely burnt down.

He said a PDP member, Amuda Sikiru, was shot in the face and abdomen during the party’s campaign rally in Owo town by the APC thugs.

Earlier in the day, the same APC armed hoodlums had blocked the entry point to Ipele community, Jegede’s maternal home, and attempted to turn back the campaign team.

“This spate of attacks on our members by the ruling party in the state is threatening the peace of the state, and is apparently intended to cause violence ahead of the October 10 governorship election.”

However, the Akeredolu campaign spokesman, Olatunde Olabode, disputed the claims.

He said Mr. Jegede “ordered his thugs to unleash coordinated attacks on the innocent people of Ipele and Ijebu in Owo local government area.”

“Our people were traumatised with the sound of gunshots sporadically by Eyiyato Jegede’s thugs in Owo today,” Mr Olabode said.

“Earlier today, on our way to Akoko Southwest in continuation of our local government campaign in Akoko South-west, we noticed that all our billboards and banners have been destroyed at Emure junction.

“Sensing that the PDP might be in the main town, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu ordered his campaign convoy to take another route out of the town.

“Despite this, Eyitayo Jegede and the PDP still went ahead to cause mayhem in Owo by attacking innocent members of the public and anyone with APC or Akeredolu branded caps or T-Shirt.”

Mr Olabode said “no fewer than 20 cars were destroyed and many innocent people of Ipele and Ijebu Owo injured”.

He said motorcycles were burnt “and the streets of Ipele littered with shell of bullets.”

“We want to place it on record that Eyitayo Jegede is drumming beat of war. We are preparing for an election that will be determined by the people of this state. The people of Owo are oppressed and victimised by the PDP today,” he said.

Meanwhile, the police command in Ondo has confirmed the mayhem.

A spokesman said the police would investigate the situation “to determine the group which started the crisis.”

“There are accusations and counter accusations from the two parties, but the fact is that thugs from both parties engaged themselves in a fight,” said Tee Leo-Ikoro, the Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State.

“What we are doing now is to determine which group first launched an attack, and then ‘we will make them examples’ of how not to breach the peace,” he said.

‘Watch Your Words’: Arewa Consultative Forum Tackles Osinbajo Over Nigeria’s Breakup Warning
A northern socio-political group, the Arewa Consultative Forum, has criticised Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over his recent comments that present cracks could lead to a break up of the country.

The Vice president should not make statements that would worsen tension in the country.
The ACF cautioned Osinbajo against comments capable of creating further tension in the land.

Osinbajo, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha, at an interdenominational church service in Abuja on Sunday to mark Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary, said, “Our walls are not yet broken, but there are obvious cracks that could lead to a break, if not properly addressed.”

At the service, the SGF read Osinbajo’s speech.

The northern body acknowledged that the cracks in the country were unhealthy, but noted that the nation would overcome such.

In an interview with Punch, the National Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Emmanuel Yawe while reacting to the Vice President’s comment, cautioned other Nigerian leaders, to “watch their words.”

The ACF’s spokesman, in an interview with The PUNCH, said, “The cracks are unhealthy, but we expect the Vice President to calm nerves and not make a pronouncement that will aggravate the situation.

“The ACF is hopeful that Nigeria will overcome its current travails as it did in the past and even overcame a fratricidal war to break up Nigeria. To do this, Nigerian leaders like Osinbanjo should watch their words.”

REAKING: 36 State Governors Drag President Buhari To Supreme Court

The 36 states are seeking an order of the Supreme Court quashing Buhari’s Executive order for being unconstitutional. The 36 states of the federation have gone before the Supreme Court to challenge the Presidential Executive Order No. 00-10 of 2020 signed in May. The 36 states, who filed the suit through their respective attorneys general, are seeking an order of the Supreme Court quashing Buhari’s Executive Order for being unconstitutional. The sole respondent in the suit is the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami (SAN).

In the suit filed on their behalf by nine Senior Advocates of Nigeria, led by a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Mr Augustine Alegeh (SAN); and six other lawyers, the 36 states explained that Buhari, by virtue of the Executive Order he signed on May 20, 2020, had pushed the Federal Government’s responsibility of funding both the capital and recurrent expenditures of the state high courts, Sharia Court of Appeal and the Customary Court of Appeal, to the state governments.

They contended that Buhari’s Executive Order No. 00-10 of 2020 was a clear violation of sections 6 and 8(3) of the 1999 Constitution, which make it the responsibility of the Federal Government to fund the listed courts.

The 36 states, which said they had been funding the capital projects in the listed courts since 2009, are also praying the Supreme Court to order the Federal Government to make a refund to them.

Since the 5th of May 2009, the defendant had not funded the capital and recurrent expenditures of the state high courts, Sharia Court of Appeal and the Customary Court of Appeal of the plaintiffs’ states, apart from paying only the salaries of the judicial officers of the said courts.

The plaintiffs’ states have been solely responsible for funding the capital and recurrent expenditures of the state high courts, Sharia Court of Appeal and the Customary Court of Appeal of the plaintiffs’ states, which the defendant has failed and/or refused to fund,” they said.

Breaking: Uduaghan dumps APC, defects to PDP today with supporters

The immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan will today, Monday formally defect from the  All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with his teaming supporter.

According to NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online report, the former governor will be rejoining PDP at his Unit 1, Ward 6, Abigborodo in Warri North local government area of the state.

Uduaghan was governor of Delta on the PDP platform for eight years (2007-2015).

He was also a commissioner for health and later Secretary to the State Government under the administration of former Governor James Ibori.

The former governor left the PDP in 2018 for APC where he contested the Delta South Senatorial election but lost to incumbent Senator James Manager.

He was said to have had a cold-war with his successor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, also a medical doctor like him.

Uduaghan was recently sighted at a function with Governor Okowa and Ibori during the Annual General meeting of Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) held at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara.

It was the first time Uduaghan would be seen with his successor (Okowa) in a public function since the 2019 general elections.

NDT reports that the issues that forced the former governor to dump PDP where he was a founding member had been resolved.

Though, Uduaghan had neither confirmed nor denied his return to PDP, some of his loyalists including Hon. Godwin Abigor, a former Delta Assembly lawmaker, last week defected to PDP.

Multiple sources within the PDP and APC have confirmed the development.

Thousands of his supporters were alleged to have already stormed Abigborodo ahead of the defection today (Monday).

Credible sources informed this reporter that the former governor will rejoin his former party at about 11am on Monday.

Organized Labour Unions Suspend Planned Industrial Action

Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has suspended its planned nationwide strike that would have started today, Monday, September 28, in protest against the hike in pump price of fuel and electricity tariff.

Earlier, there were indications that the Federal Government and NLC might reach an agreement to avert the looming nationwide strike.

The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo(SAN) tweeted that there was hope the industrial crisis might be avoided.

He stated on his verified Twitter handle(@fkeyamo): “Still negotiating with labour at exactly 12.34am. Some progress have been made. Concrete proposals on the table from both sides.

“Details being worked on by the temporary Secretariat. Gradually moving towards a point of convergence. Let’s hope….”

A source said that it is possible the tariff will be suspended for two weeks, but said nothing specific about fuel pump price.

The source also said a joint government/Labour committee will be set up to review the issues within those two weeks.

it was learnt that a communique is being hammered out, an indication that some sort of agreement had been arrived at.

The issue of pump price hike had links with IMF, the World Bank and other international finance bodies Nigeria is indebted to.

Nigerian Politians And Their quest For Power: A Case Study Of Prince Dayo Adeyeye

By Chief Sanya Atofarati

I sincerely empathize with Prince Dayo Adeyeye particularly on the recent and past challenges that has befallen his political career through misadventures of ideas and associates. It is indeed a trying time for him politically.

So when I read a purported suspension letter of Gov Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti state by a factional executive of his party APC, on allegation heavily relying on anti party activities and plots to undermine the party. First, as a principal member of the major oppososing party, I was satisfied and happy, knowing fully well that I would be reaping heavily from their defeat and would never pray for resolvable crisis among them.

Even though some of the allegations, without biase, are lame and would fall-flat before facts. However, a particular part of the "Suspension" letter linked with Senator Biodun Olujimi wherein they alleged their party leader, Kayode Fayemi conspired with Biodun Olujimi to retrieve her stolen Senate Mandate from Prince Dayo Adeyeye, was not only misleading but also a misrepresentation of fact.

An holistic evaluation and assessment of the allegations contained in the "Suspension" letter and political pedigree of its signatories had left many Nigerians worried of how Nigeria politicians cook inflamatory comments just to curry undue sympathy, even at the detriment of the other and the imagery of the state.

Personally, I can understand the many travails cum fraustration of Prince Dayo Adeyeye of APC and a former member of my party PDP. But truth be told, your political misadventure began the day you muted the idea to demolish your House because of an infringing mouse. Despite efforts to open your eyes to the foresaw and the iminient RAIN waiting to befall your career, rather, the come-home-for-roast tunes of the APC sounded so rythmic to your political hears and you gollibly bought into their anticts and danced, danced and danced until you tore apart the UMBERELLA that would have provided you shield during this political rain and heavy storms , hell No!

Sir, you were never trusted, you have never been trusted and you can never be trusted by the APC. Presently now, you already have TRUST ISSUES and even if you decide to return/rejoin PDP today, you can not be trusted not only by members of your party but majorly by your immediate constituents of the South Senatorial District whose trust you have betrayed and geopadized their chances of fielding a Governorship Candidate at two consecutive terms for your self-satisfied Enterprise.

I have no reason to hold brief for Gov Fayemi on any of the allegations leveled against him by his already sinking APC. Notwithstanding, Senator Dayo Adeyeye lacks moral justification to be part of such aimless allegation of conspiracy and anti party activity.

For avoidance of doubts, I attended all the judicial proceedings of the NASS post election matter, particularly the Olujimi vs Adeyeye, from the its first sitting at Tribunal in Ado-Ekiti and I was also there till the last Judgement was delivered at the Appellate Count in Kaduna. Sufficiently I can say that Prince Dayo Adeyeye, even as a lawyer, had no knowledge of the case. When Olujimi had hired a SAN (Egbewole) and bench of other versatile lawyers to argue her case, Adeyeye was busy lobbying around for a backdoor judgement and paid less attention to the sensitivity of the case at hand. Adeyeye only attended the submission of address sitting at the Appeal Court at Fajuyi, Ado-Ekiti and that was the day he made this statement bellow

https://www.sunnewsonline.com/im-not-contesting-ekiti-guber-poll-in-2022-senator-adeyeye/

Meanwhile, as a lawyer, if Adeyeye had taken seriously the matter, taken cognisance of each details like Olujimi did maybe he would have won but instead, the man slips into comfort zone, undermined the Judicial system, relied on external help which eventually failed because they couldn't help his already misfiled defense before the Tribunal panel.

Senator (Chief Mrs) Biodun Olujimi's Victory at the Tribunal was hinged on the application for ballots recount filed by Egbewole SAN and niether Chief Bello Balogun Esq of Dayo Adeyeye nor INEC and any necessary parties in the suit objected to the application, rather they uninanimously agreed to abide by whatever the outcome of the ballot recount and the honourable court granted the quest.

Upon the recount of the ballot papers by INEC in the presence of the parties Counsel and Representatives, they discovered a whopping some of 20,000 non existing votes that had been mischievously and unlawfully added to Dayo Adeyeye's votes. Perhaps inexperience on the Balogun's or the expertise of Egbewole SAN, Adeyeye's lead Counsel admitted before the court that it was a "wrong computation" which the Judge queried why the wrong computations were not made in favour of the plaintiff.

After the deduction of the fictitious 20,000 vote, Olujimi was declared winner of the election having polled over 2,000 of the highest lawful votes, she was consequently declared winner and returned.

Uncle Dayo Adeyeye Sir, your political injuries are self-inflicted. Stop blaming the same Fayemi that gave you the privilege to fly his party ticket, don't blame the same Olujimi who stepped down her own governorship ambition (Being a brother from the South Senatorial District) to push you up with over 550 delegates in the PDP primary and still backed you up with about 100 million naira cash just to see you succeed.

It is too late to cry....!

2023: I’ll support Tinubu if he wants to be president — Buhari

Oyo North lawmaker, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, says he will support All Progressives Congress stalwart, Bola Tinubu, to be the next president of Nigeria the moment he declares his interest in the nation’s top job.

Buhari said this during an interview with journalist, Edmund Obilo, on Thursday.

When asked if Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State was working against Tinubu’s interest, Buhari said that was not true.

He responded, “No. I am Tinubu. I am not Fayemi and I will not be in a meeting where somebody would be working against Tinubu. I am supporting Tinubu.”

Responding to a question on whether Tinubu was running for president, Buhari said, “If he wants to be President, I will support him. I will campaign for him.”

As regards the crisis rocking the APC in Oyo State, the lawmaker said the disagreement was caused by the loss of the governorship seat to the Peoples Democratic Party.

He, however, said a former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, is the leader of the party in the state.

When asked if the death of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi had affected the progress of the APC in Oyo State, the lawmaker responded, “Of course. Ajimobi meant different things to many people.”

Ekiti PDP Crisis: Fayose, Olujimi Groups Clash Over Party Office In Ikole

The crisis rocking the Ekiti State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), took another dimension yesterday, Thursday, September 24, 2020, as groups allegedly loyal to former Governor Ayo Fayose and his erstwhile deputy, Senator Biodun Olujimi clashed over ownership of the Ikole local government Secretariat of the party.

The state Executive led by a former House of Representatives, Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi was said to have been scheduled for the inuaguration of the newly elected party executive in the area, when suddenly, a pocket of some harm-to-teeth thugs alleged to have been sponsored by a group loyal to Fayose stormed the party office to disperse the party members and executives sitted awaiting the arrival of the Chairman, Odebunmi for the inuaguration.

Meanwhile, the party members overpowered the sponsored thugs as they took to heel the moment the people raised the alarm and the thugs were chased from different directions.

If recalled, the party's March 7 Ward Congress has continued to generate disunity among the opposition PDP in the state as groups have approached Courts seeking clarification over the legality of the exercise. However, the both camps who perherps lack confidence in the NWC of the party had went ahead to conduct parallel Local Government and State Congresses and Two State Chairmen have consequently emerged with Senator Olujimi group having Kehinde Odebunmi while Fayose holding on to a former Commissioner for Environment, Bisi Kolawole as Chairmen, respectively.
Speaking with media, shortly after the Inuaguration, Kehinde Odebunmi said, “We congratulate the newly Inuagurated party executives in Ikole LG and we must sincerely commend them for their commitment to party ideals. They have today demonstrated thier readiness to resist any form of dictatorship and oppression in Ekiti PDP."

The former Chairman of Ikole local government Council, Hon. (Mrs) Biola Olukayode-Ajayi, speaking with Ojaomonews.com, said;

“We are optimistic that PDP will constitute the next government in Ekiti state. We already know where and what led to our defeat in the June 2018 governorship election and we are not ready to repeat such a grave error again and this is why we are resisting any form of backdoor manipulation by anyone against our collective struggle. And as for the Osoko group, they are only ranting on social media, deceiving the Ex-governor. They are less than 10 percent and it is rediculous to ever imagined that the minority would want to Lord over the larger party populace. We have only sent signals down to Mr Ayo Fayose that we are fully on ground, we have the people and we have the party. It is not going to be business as usual as we will be taking the boo by it's horn because we are returning the power back to the people”. She said.

Ondo2020: Again, Akeredolu’s commissioner, others defect to ZLP

Again, top government official working with Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has resigned his appointment to join the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), ahead of the October 10 Ondo governorship election.

The official is Bisi Ilawole, a Commissioner with the Ondo State Oil Producing Commission (OSOPADEC). He resigned his appointment with the State government on Tuesday.

What Is Left Of APC Is Just Respect For Buhari – Okorocha

A founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, has said that only respect for President Muhammadu Buhari is all that is left of the APC and that the crisis rocking the party was part of consequences for relegating the founding members.

Okorocha who addressed some journalists on Sunday in Abuja said that there is no more APC.

According to him, the party that is smarting from internal crisis after the 2019 general elections, died the day the leadership abandoned the progressive and democratic ideals on which it was founded.

Okorocha, who is also the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, said that apart from President Buhari, the other leaders of the political blocks that merged to form the party in 2015, were practically schemed out by forces that later joined the party.

“Permit me to give you the inside of APC, this word APC was formed by four major political parties that had governors, one was the CPC led by President Muhammadu Buhari, ACN led by Ahmed Tinubu, ANPP led by Ogbonnaya Onu who all brought their structure, APGA led by me brought in our structure. Every other person fell into this structure. The PDP group came in and joined us. I gave the name APC. I designed that logo and that was the beginning of the party and we had understanding.

“That is the party you call APC and unless we go back to where it all started, APC can never see the light of the day and that was how we started and that was what brought President Muhammadu Buhari to office.

The State Working Committee under the leadership of Hon Kehinde Odebunmi expresses the joy of Ekiti PDP and members for the outstanding victory.

The party encourages all its members to take a cue from the Spartan ruggedness, determination and sincerity of  Godwin Obaseki, Edo state PDP members, including Edo State people, across the political divide, for not allowing the APC money bags to offer the state for sale.

Ekiti State PDP also commends our courageous "war commanders" led by Governor(s) Wike of River State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okowa of Delta state and other leaders who didn't blink their eyelids, in ensuing that pdp retains Edo State in the genuine mainstream of Nigerian politics.

Finally, as we continue to celebrate the victory of Godwin Obaseki, we must be on guard that it is not yet Uhuru, until pdp removes all the APC anti-people rickety structures, from the North to the South. That is the only hope of restoration for the Nigerian people. The next victory being  Ondo state governorship election of Eyitayo Jegede, SAN on October 10, 2020.

The Senator representing South District of Ekiti State, Mrs Biodun Olujimi has congratulated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Governor-Elect of Edo state, Gov. Godwin Obaseki for his victory at the polls.

Obaseki had emerged victorious in the governorship election held on Saturday in the state.

Olujimi urged Obaseki to use his second coming to consolidate on his previous achievements during his first tenure as the governor of the state. She also urged him to justify the confidence the Edo electorates have reposed in him by voting massively for him and defending their votes during the governorship election. The courage, resilience and commitment of Edo people to democratic tenets cannot be questioned.

Olujimi said the just concluded Edo State gubernatorial election has further showed the readiness of the Nigerian electorates, particularly, the downtrodden masses to fight against any form of oppression and godfatherism which she believes had served as clog in the wheel of progress to the Nigerian democratic system.

According to a statement made available through her media aide, Chief Sanya Atofarati, Olujimi congratulated the good people of Edo state for their steadfastness, resilience and doggedness even in the face of Intimidation, molestation and humiliation.

Ekiti2022: The Jolly Of The Two Erstwhile Sworn Political Enemies

Former governors Ayodele Fayose and Segun Oni of Ekiti State, two erstwhile sworn political enemies, are now jolly good political pals. The two are members of the same faction of the troubled opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Following Oni’s unexpected decision to support Fayose’s camp in its battle against Senator Biodun Olujimi’s group, the battle for control of the party rages on.

Sentry has, however, discovered that the new found love between the two politicians who not too long ago battled themselves to a standstill, may soon collapse.

Most observers watching the moves of both men, hold the same view. Sources say the new friendship may be more of a loose political alliance than true reconciliation.

Tongues are wagging that Oni is befriending Fayose because he desires the PDP gubernatorial ticket for 2022. On the other hand, others are saying Osokomole has no plan to support his new friend’s gubernatorial aspiration.

Those who foresee a short-lived friendship between them are citing Fayose’s statement when he announced the end of hostilities between him and Oni last August, as a clear indication of things to come.

“Having formally received Engr. Segun Oni into the PDP at yesterday’s State Congress, henceforth, nobody should castigate, embarrass or undermine him (Oni) on any social media platforms associated with Osoko Political Family. However, this statement does not represent or amount to endorsement of Oni’s gubernatorial ambition,” Fayose had said publicly, to set the stage for another round of intrigues between the new friends. To matters more interesting, sources close to Oni insist he’s not about to drop his ambition any time soon.

APC Crisis deepens: Chieftain, 500 others defect to PDP in Ekiti

Not less than five hundred members of All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State were Reportedly defected to the opposition Peoples democratic party, today Thursday, Sept 17th 2020.

The former members of the All Progressives Congress, who gathered from across the 11 Wards of Ido-Osi local government area of Ekiti State were led by their leader, Hon Alade ode who expressed dissatisfaction at what he described as archaic, alien and undemocratic practice of All Progressives Congress in the state, which he said the crisis rocking the party were responsible for the mass defection being witnessed by party in the state.

Ojaomonews.com reliably gathered that earlier to their defection, the new PDP members were formerly received by the chairman and members of their respective wards, where they alleged that Dr Kayode Fayemi government had failed to deliver dividends of democracy, particularly to the downtrodden citizens of the state.

The event which took place at the PDP secretariat in Ido-Osi local government and presided over by the party chairman, Mr olaleye Abiodun witnessed the presence of party leaders and bigwigs in the Senatorial district: including the immediate past senator who represented Ekiti North District in the 8th Nigerian senate, Sen Duro Faseyi, a member of the caretaker committee in the Southwest zone Hon Adeola Ogunrinde, the party’s Senatorial chairman Hon. Anifowose and among other leaders.

Meanwhile call efforts to reach out to the APC Chairman in the state, Barr Paul omotosho proved abortive, as all his lines were not connecting as at the time of filing this report.

However, political observers in the state and beyond have posited that PDP has better chances of winning the 2022 governorship election in the state, if proper reconciliatory measures could be taken to salvage the current crisis rocking the party in the state.

In his position, Sen Duro Faseyi opined that only a genuine reconciliation could save the party from heat imminent woe. Stating that, “it is an act of absurdity, lawlessness and injustice for anyone regardless of how highly placed in the society or in the party to think that it could be justified to impose or lord a less than 10% members of the party over the general populace of the party”. He said.

PDP NWC Letter Of Recognition: An Antics of Fayose.

The chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Ekiti State, Kehinde Odebunmi, on Friday doubted the authenticity of a letter purportedly written by the party’s National Working Committee which gave recognition to the former Governor Ayodele Fayose faction’s State Working Committee chaired by Bisi Kolawole.
Odebunmi, who is the chairman  recognized by Senator Biodun Olujimi and 80% of PDP in Ekiti State, said, “The contents of the letter purportedly signed by the party’s national secretary, Senator Umaru Tsauri, were full of confusion and ambiguities.”
Leadership crisis between Fayose and Olujimi had split the party into two factions whereby they conducted parallel ward, local government and state congresses just as there is a pending legal issue over the conduct of the ward congresses.
The September 10, 2020 letter entitled, ‘State executive committee – Ekiti State,’ and addressed to the Inspector-General of Police stated that Ekiti PDP had concluded its congresses, adding “the SWC is led by Hon Bisi Kolawole and scribed by Hon Mrs Funmi Ogun.”
But Odebunmi, a former member of the House of Representatives, who spoke at a conference, addressed by the Olujimi faction in Ado Ekiti, said, “Firstly, we doubt the authenticity of the letter purportedly written by the National Secretary, because it was solely written and signed by the National Secretary. By my own understanding, any letter by any party to any federal agency is always co-signed by the chairman and secretary.
“Again in paragraph two of the letter, the party owned up that it hasn’t conducted the ward and state congresses in 22 wards of two local governments. If that is the case, why should they proceed with the state congress when there were outstanding? Are they saying the two councils are not part of Ekiti? They should know that you can’t build something on nothing.
“Let me also notice that the letter was addressed to the IGP and copied Independent National Electoral Commission. When did the IGP become the superintending authority over INEC? We are of the opinion that a separate letter has to be written to INEC and should be co-signed by National Chairman and Secretary.
“We know their antics, they didn’t write to INEC directly because the electoral umpire didn’t participate in the charade they called congress here in Ekiti. To us, we doubt the authenticity of that letter going by the ambiguities contained therein.”
