  • Omotunde's Achievements As Elemo Ise Ekiti Within Five Years.

Omotunde's Achievements As Elemo Ise Ekiti Within Five Years.

A traditional leader of Ise Ekiti, in Ekiti State, High Chief Omotunde Paul the Elemo of Ise Kingdom has reiterated his commitment towards human development in Nigeria, particularly in Ekiti state.

Upon the completion of traditional rites and as nominated by the Igbaenijoke linage of the popular Elemo ruling House, High Chief Omotunde Paul was Installed the Elemo Oraye of Ise-Kingdom on the 3rd/4th of June 2015 in the Palace of His Royal Majesty Oba, Dr. David Ajayi (PhD), Aweloye 2nd, the Arinjale of Ise Kingdom

Elemo is traditionally the third in Iare Oraye in Ise Ekiti and it is a title that has been transferred from one generation to another. . The stool of Elemo is not a title you seek or buy.  It is a title that is hereditary within “OMO ILE-ELEMO” that produced High Ch Omotunde Paul in 2015 as a leading contender and a direct descendant of Osanyindoro (great great grant child of Elemo Ojo Ileke) who migrated from great Benin kingdom, sojourn at Igbemo and finally settled down at Ise kingdom.

  • Traditionally, the Elemo Chieftaincy is one of the oldest, renowned and hallowed chieftain titles in Ise Ekit. The bearer of the chieftaincy title is the third in the rank in the inner Cabinet known as the IHARE ORAYE.

The chieftaincy title is all-important position and eminent role within the cabinet in particular. The traditional council in general confirms the accepted belief that the Elemo Chieftaincy is a pillar within the chieftaincy caucus. This explains the titles cognomen of “Opo Eketa Iare” (meaning “the pillar and the third in the Iare rank) and Afolua kua se konree (That is, everywhere must be silent when Elemo is talking)

Hon. Justice .A. Adesodun of the State High court of Ise Ekiti substantiated the revered position and territorial authority of The Elemo Oraye in his judgment of Monday, December 18th 2017, in the SUIT NO: HIS/1/2017, and on Pages 6,7 and 8 through page 9 wherein the court held and affirmed and High Chief Omotunde Paul as the Head of Elemo Oraye

  • The Elemo is the traditional spokesperson for the (Iare Oraye), (Oraye tranditional council). He conveys the views of the Iare (Oraye) and reports the view of the people to the Oba, the Kabiesi Arinjale Kingdom. Essentially, the Elemo serves the sensitive position as the traditional link between the “crown” and the populace, vice versa.

Other traditional roles of Elemo Oraye include; Host of the ancestral Ogbese Annual Festival; Co-host Amomo Festival; Co-host with High Ch Ojomu, Obaluaye Festival amongst other sacred and peculiar rites.

Highlighting his achievements within the 5 years of his enthronement, Elemo Omotunde said his major achievement was the successful reunification of the long abandoned Ebi Elemo Household meeting, Sponsorship of Bursary, Youth Oriented Programs, Community Development Supports and lots more.

Sen. Olujimi Breaks Silence Speaks On Segun Oni's Defection!

I have read with mirth, the above story.
Suffice it to say that am not a coward in anyway.
I am niether petty nor mean to utter such a sentence.

For the avoidance of doubt, leadership is not, by my reckoning, by fiat or purchased, it is earned. It is earned not only by the position you occupy or occupied but by your disposition and discretion. Your attitude, humility and respect for others are complimentary.

Also at no time did i grant an interview to allude to such. I have great respect for everyone especially former Governor Segun Oni and I can say he has same for my person. In fact we come a long way since our sojourn at the Delta Steel Company, Ovwian Aladja.

All the dirty tricks in politics will not affect our relationship, more so that he has come back home to our great party, the PDP.

He is welcome back home. The rest of the issues will be within the family.
Kindly let everyone know the intrigues to pitch people together will not work.
A word is enough for the wise.

Thank you.

Sen. Biodun Olujimi

The Genesis Of Ekiti PDP mischief And The Necessity Of Repositioning... By Omo-Imam

EKITI PDP: THOSE WHO ENJOYED THE FRUITS, WISH TO CONSUMED THE SEEDLINGS

They collapsed PARTY PLATFORM  into governance ignorantly and forgetting that
Government is tenured, but Platforms outlived governance.

The case of those who defecate on the bed at dawn, forgetting that time flies and wait for no man.

They have wrongfully assumed that life is as straight as the piping of a gun, they never took to cognisance the bends that could sprang up unaware along the journey

They have arrogated to themselves even the powers to know what tomorrow holds, they consumed both the seedlings and the fruits

Aye fami lete ki n tuto, they collapsed the whole system of governance and politics into 1.

They replaced party Elders with loyal office holders...yes everything was going on well with them.
They are not answerable to the system that afforded them the Platforms, they were filled with arrogance and powers of their offices. Disregarded warnings and bullied those who made attempts to checkmate their excesses.

Little did they know that power is transient while party is platform, Power is lost, the touch of party weakened. Still living in self deceit, muscling those whose interest is to CORRECT the WRONGS

They felt so insecure, and even unsafe to accept a helping hand, Arrogance and force that led to power loss are still the styles in their survival race to sustain relevance.

Those who benefitted from the disorganization of the party, impersonating party leaders just because they won elections into various offices, are still the same set of people wanting to call the shots even when it's glaringly evident and boldly written that they have woefully failed the party.

"What's the need for REPOSITIONING, if nothing was wrong with the party"?

How can you claimed nothing was wrong with the party when an Aspirant within same party was openly opposed and vilified using instrument of office that was a collective mandate made possible by all and sundry??

Who is a leader?
"A person who has the ability to make majority keep following perpetually or the person who has the capacity to build leaders to lead at differences directions and dictates"?

We must beginning to separate leadership from megalomaniac behavioural theories. We must beginning to demarcate selfishness from selflessness.

The PDP is not the property of individual nor a business umpire that should be so insured to serve only the interest of a selected few.
It's a big platform meant to actualized the vision and dreams of as many as those whose intentions and impression marries the trust and expectation of the public.

As we put this house in order, we also welcome more into the fold to making it stronger and formidable.

We must take the party back from the confines of individuals and handed it back to the original owner (The People) making their opinions count.

Signed:
  • Omo-Imam, Igede Ekiti.

Olujimi Debunks Anti Oni's Comment, Says It's A Big Lie.

The Senator representing Ekiti South District, Senator Biodun Olujimi has debunked an alleged anti Oni's comment published on a certain online blog called WAZOBIA REPORTERS on Friday.

Wazobiareporters is owned and coordinated by Fayose's media aide, Lere Olayinka and it is a known instrument of falsehood and propaganda.

Lere Olayinka's Wazobiareporters had purportedly alleged Senator Olujimi of insisting on leadership contest with the former governor of the state, Chief Segun Oni, who had recently announced his intention to return to the party, PDP.

Olujimi who rubbished the whole publication with few words, had, said, "Big lie. I have not granted an interview. It is a lie."

Meanwhile, members of the general public have been advised to disregard the publication in its entirety and ignore any other rantings by Lere Olayinka and his co-mischief makers who are bent on destroying the PDP for selfcentredness and greed by sowing seeds of disunity among the party members.

  • EXCLUSIVE: APC Governors meet, to endorse Obaseki, Akeredolu

  • Fayemi, Bagudu to present resolution to Buhari.

Strong feelers coming from sources close to the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) say the governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC will make known, their endorsement for governors Godwin Obaseki of Edo state and Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state at their meeting billed for today.

This is coming on the heels of a purported endorsement of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as a gubernatorial candidate by a splinter group in the Edo state APC.

The meeting of the PGF, which will be held in Abuja after the meeting of the Nigeria Governors Forum is also meant to officially present a joint resolution on the matter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ahead of the meeting, Governors Mandate gathers that many of the governors are already converging at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja for the all important meeting.

Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki is already in Abuja, the chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi is billed to land in Abuja this afternoon. Also, chairman of Progressives Governors Forum, Atiku Bagudu is also said to be airborne, enroute Abuja.

Sources close to the governors said there is a high sense of solidarity within the ranks of the governors with many of them vowing not to allow their colleagues suffer the “Ambode treatment” again. Ambode treatment is a derogatory reference to how former governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode was denied a second term ticket simply because he had disagreement with powerful forces in the party’s leadership in Lagos.

They have vowed to resist any arrangement put in place by the Party hierarchy to jeopardise the chances of their colleagues in the forthcoming party primaries.

With governorship elections fast approaching in Edo and Ondo states, the two governors are facing a daunting challenge in their bids for re-election.

While Governor Obaseki is having a running battle with the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, a National leader of the Party from the Southwest is said to be promoting another aspirant to oust Governor Akeredolu for the APC ticket.

The governors of the party are however aversed to what they term a “stranglehold on party structures,” and also the disdain for them being the leaders of the party in their respective states.

Alleged exam malpractices: FG withdraws charges against Sen Adeleke

The prosecution in the trial of former governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adelake and for others on examination malpractices charges, withdrew charges against the politician on Thursday.

Adeleke was arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja in October 2018 along with Sikiru Adeleke (who is said to be the senator’s relative), Alhaji Aregbesola Mufutau (the school principal), Gbadamosi Thomas Ojo (registrar) and Dare Samuel Olutope (teacher).

Ademola and Sikiru were accused of fraudulently, through personation, registering as students of Ojo-Aro Community Grammar School, Ojo-Aro, Osun State to enable them sit for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination of June/July 2017.

The other three defendants were accused of aiding the commission of the alleged offence.

At the resumed hearing on Thursday, prosecution lawyer, Simon Lough said the state has amended the charge to exclude Adeleke, in view of his continued absence in court.

Adeleke has failed to attend court since last year when he was granted permission, by the trial judge, Justice Inyang Ekwo, to travel to the United States on medical grounds.

Lawyers to the defendants, led by Alex Izinyon (SAN) did not object to the prosecution’s decision to amend its charge.

They however disagreed with the prosecution on the appropriate order to be made; whether Adeleke should be simply discharged, based on the withdrawal of the charge against him, or whether he should be discharged and acquitted.

The other defendants pleaded not guilty when they were re-arraigned on the amended seven-count charge.

Justice Ekwo agreed with the defence lawyers that the defendants should continue to enjoy the bail earlier granted them.

Coronavirus: Kogi rejects NCDC results, says state still Covid-19 free
 by  Rahaman Abiola

There is an ongoing drama of confusion in Kogi as the state government insisted it is Covid-19 free - Yahaya Bello-led government's denial trailed the NCDC report announcing the first two cases in the state on Wednesday - Kogi said it has full testing capacities and has conducted many tests which successfully came out negative PAY ATTENTION:  There is an unfolding drama is Kogi as Governor Yahaya Bello-led government insisted that the north-central state is still free of coronavirus scourge despite fresh discovery. Legit.ng notes that the state's utter denial coincided with the report by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announcing two cases in the state. Saka Haruna Audu, Kogi health commissioner, in a statement on Wednesday, May 27, said the state has conducted hundreds of Covid-19 tests out of which none came out positive, He stressed that Kogi has a full testing capacity and any attempt to force the state to announce cases of coronavirus will be completely rejected. Yahaya Bello-led government's denial trailed the NCDC report announcing the first two cases in the state on Wednesday.

Source: Twitter "Kogi state till this very moment is Covid-19 free. We have developed full testing capacity and have conducted hundreds of tests so far which have come back negative. “We have also continued to insist that we will not be a party to any fictitious COVID-19 claims which is why we do not recognise any COVID-19 test conducted by any Kogite outside the boundaries of the State except those initiated by us," Audu said.
The commissioner, however, assured the people of the state of maximum security from the scourge and enjoined them to take all the precautionary measure with utmost seriousness.

  • The Coming Of Fmr Governor Segun Oni And His
Followers And The Ranting Of The Opposition Within PDP Ekiti.

History has a way of reminding us of the past. Its either pleasurable, if handled right, or sordid if taken with levity and selfishness.

The write up by a group,  purportedly signed by one Ayo Fayose is currently trending, with indictment and unnecessary abuse of the social media space and the sensibilities of other party members in PDP Ekiti.

For the avoidance of doubt, in accordance with the right of association entrenched in our constitution, anyone is free to join any political party of choice as long as certain procedures, prescribed by the party is followed. And also free to exit at any time he wants.  Therefore nobody within or outside of the party has the power to stop anyone who wants to join the party.  At least we all say, the more the merrier in  party politics. Can one person win a major election? Are we not supposed to mobilise more people into the party? Can anyone deny the fact that the return of people to the party will boost it's chances?

To refresh our memory, when Fmr Gov Fayose lost his governorship, he went to several parties including ANPP, PPA, LABOUR Etc. He even campaigned openly against the party, that did not stop the party from accepting him back into the fold. In fact, he returned and took the biggest ticket!! In the same vein, Otunba Akerele, won the Governorship primaries and was arm twisted and dispossessed, he did not leave immediately. He and numerous others left due to injustice and high handedness of Fmr Governor Fayose. When the party thought it fit, they woo them back into the party. Is that an offence? What is wrong in returning to a place where you had invented so much pain and had some pleasure? Why will he be singled out for vilification by someone who is guilty of the same offence! Why, for God's sake, will fmr Gov Oni and his people not be allowed to return into the party? Is the party a personal property in the hands of one man? Can a party win without all hands on deck? Will a group wilfully destroy others? Please note that the measure u give is the measure you get in return. The party belongs to all, no one can stop the other.

It is good to note that all this is because of the need to control the party and determine those who will fly the flag in subsequent elections!! Only those ordained by God from time immemorial will fly the flag!! This is also a note of warning to the Segun Oni group who are being  touted to have already shared available positions! Those you have come to join are not fools! They toiled and suffered to keep the party alive and well despite all the odds!! They are also ambitious!! Everyone in politics has one or more ambitions!! It is the system and persuasion that calms everyone down!

Anyone without ambition has no reason to be there! Those making the possession of ambition of others a reason to vilify them are just being economical with the truth. Its either they are naive, have nothing to offer or want to displace others with cheap talk!! Ambition is no crime, it is usually moderated by reality. All we need is honesty of purpose and the ability to persuade and heal wounds.

It is clear with all of these that its not business as usual but business unusual. Those who held the party together must be up and running and stop complaining!! Those coming must be circumspect and know that there are ambitious people already in the party and those that want to prevent others from joining should know they don't have such rights to so do!!!

In all, it is adults that populate political parties and it is by choice. You also choose, with honesty, the person you desire to lead you for very many and important reasons!
Enough of bad mouthing, enough of grandstanding, enough of stupidity!!

Dr. Goke Adelola

BREAKING: You Are Not Welcomed In PDP ~ Fayose Blasts Oni

The former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose has said that no one with paperweight would be allowed to decamp to the Ekiti State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) henceforth.

Fayose said this on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 while reacting to a declaration letter, dated 24th May 2020, addressed to the PDP Caretaker Committee by the former governor of Ekiti state and former deputy national chairman of the All Progressives Congress APC, Chief Segun Oni indicating his interest to return to PDP

Extract from the 9-pages letter, Oni said; "At our consultative meeting on the 15th March, 2020, we took a decision to leave the APC for PDP. Our purpose of writing this letter is to inform you formally that we have since directed our members to join the PDP at their respective Wards and that, as soon as the Covid19 restrictions permit, we would like to mark our declaration with a rally at Ado Ekiti. This will be in full consultation and agreement with you."

Meanwhile, Oni's decision to return to PDP seems to have reawakened the longtime rift between the two former governors, Ayo Fayose and Segun Oni respectively, as Fayose flagrantly discarded the Oni's intentions owing to political irrelevance.

Describing Chief Segun Oni and his group as paperweights, Fayose who forwarded the Oni's letter to the official PDP WhatsApp platform said Oni and his group are not welcomed in PDP.

Fayose said; "Majority of these Oni’s fellow returnees are nothing but known or NO weight, whose names are simply to fill the gaps in desperation for recognition. No welcome to them all."

Meanwhile Oni's intentions to return to PDP has been described as a welcome development by majority of the party members, especially those in Senator Biodun Olujimi's camp, stressing that Oni's political clout is needed to further compliment the progressive efforts of Senator Olujimi and other leaders who are poised at repositioning the party.

EKITI PDP: FOR A GENUINE RECONCILIATION BY IDOWU ADELUSI

According to  Oxford Dictionary of English, the meaning of Reconciliation is,  " (1) the restoration of friendly relations with:
(2) the action of making one view compatible with another :
any possibility of reconciliation between such clearly opposed positions.
definition from
Oxford Dictionary of English - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobisystems.msdict.embedded.wireless.oxford.dictionaryofenglish

reconciliation /ËŒrÉ›k(É™)nsɪlɪˈeɪʃ(É™)n  /
▸ noun

If the Old Testament is without blemish, there will not be a need for the New Testament.

Because the Old Testament in Ekiti PDP is antithetical to progress and development, Leaders of Likemind in the party formed the Repositioning Group purposely to reform and reposition the party.

What these collective leaders led by Senator Abiodun Olujimi and Senator Duro Faseyi had disagreed with in the Ekiti PDP is (1)  imposition (2) dictatorship (3) oppression (4) arrogance (5) lack of transparency,  etc.

Incidentally, the Repositioning Group is standing solidly and with all energy not to waver from the intention.

Since reform and reposition is the stand of this group, the position of Party Chairmanship for this group, is not negotiable if there is to be a genuine reconciliation. The chairmanship candidate is the symbol of the reform and reposition.

The danger of capitulating, to allow old wine in new bottle, is a continuation of the old order. And that is a technical defeat,

While we wholeheartedly welcome the State Caretaker Committee which is to swing into action soon, our leaders in the Repositioning Group must sit tight.
Lastly,  I want to enjoy members of this group to channel their energies in silent strategising, and promoting our Chairmanship Candidate,  Hon KEHINDE ODEBUNMI, instead of dissipating energy in replying posts from the other group.
You don't need that.  *Bi iro ba nlo logun odun, ojo kan ni otito yio ba*.

Senator Olujimi, The Symbol Of Ekiti PDP — Olugbade

A former member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Olubunmi Olugbade, who is in the camp of Senator Biodun Olujimi, shares his position on the crisis rocking the party with ABIODUN NEJO

Why has the PDP in Ekiti State been enmeshed in crisis lately?
It all started from when the former Governor, Ayodele Fayose, came back for his second term in office in 2014. Apart from his one-man showmanship, he got up one day and declared his deputy as his successor; a step that angered members and the result was a mass drift of the PDP members to other parties. It was Senator Olujimi who came to the party’s rescue. Again, shortly before the congresses, Fayose came back with his choice candidate for the position of the party chairman. A leader should be neutral in matters that concern members of his party up to a reasonable level, not that you would impose your choice or will on the majority. How would you force a chairman on the members? The situation was compounded by the Haruna Manu-led committee which was supposed to conduct the ward congresses but failed to conduct the election by coming late to the state.
So, why do you think some PDP members loyal to Fayose inaugurated ward excos on April 30?
They must have done it out of the usual style of impunity of their leader, Fayose. It is the usual style of the non-consultative administrative system of their leader. The tenure of the last ward executive members expired at 11.59 pm on April 30, you cannot swear in an executive during the pendency of the incumbent, it has to expire first. Any rightful inauguration could only be held on May 1. Besides, it was not done by the state exco. The recent judgment in Calabar stated that only the state organ can inaugurate the local organs of a party. The people they even inaugurated did not contest the election. They did not conduct any ward congress. If the so-called umpires from Abuja arrived in Ekiti by 4pm or distributed election materials by 4pm in Ado Ekiti, how was it possible to conduct the congresses in the different wards before 8pm? They converged at Petim Hotel to fill the result sheets. They did not hold any congress. Besides, how can you hold a congress without accreditation and the party’s register? The normal congresses were conducted during the day in each of the local governments, monitored and supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission. The electoral umpire wrote a report of what was monitored. The people purportedly inaugurated never did any congress. That is why the party is where we are today.
But they spoke of a letter from the NWC directing the state chairman to inaugurate the ward excos on April 30, what is your reaction to this?

The first question is, did the state chairman, Chief Gboyega Oguntuwase, act on that letter? Oguntuwase did not act on any letter like that in the first instance. Secondly, are you sure that Oguntuwase got a copy of the letter? You are not sure. The fact that a letter purportedly came from the national office does not make it legal. Don’t forget there was a process in court before the purported letter.
What prompted your group to inaugurate its ward excos on May 1?
Immediately the tenure of an executive expires, it ceases to be. If there had been an election on the ground, those people who have been elected will take over automatically and their tenure automatically commences. It is implied. There were proper ward congresses conducted in the morning, winners emerged and they have taken over. If the other group which purportedly conducted an inauguration before the expiration of the tenure of the people who they wanted to take over from say they are operating, they are operating under illegality.

Were there parallel ward congresses held in the state?

No, that is a wrong assumption. You see, there was only one congress held in the daytime in Ekiti State. The day starts from morning till evening. Find out from the Commissioner of Police and INEC. We never saw them on the field; there were no other congresses that day.
But the Fayose group is insisting that it was the congresses conducted by Manu that were ratified by the NWC.
That is not to my knowledge because it is a matter before the court. After the congresses, both the actual winners and those who claimed to be winners submitted petitions before the Appeal Committee. But sensing that anything could become the outcome of that panel and that the NWC might adopt the report of the Manu committee which did not conduct any congress in the state, those who contested the congresses in the morning went to court to seek a relief that the PDP national body should not recognise or publish or announce or act on any list submitted by Haruna Manu until the issue of actual winners on March 7 was determined by the court. If they should now bring out any list, it is in defiance of the court process. Where the list emanated from should even be queried. The names on Manu’s list did not emerge through ward congresses.
That is misconceived. Since Olujimi joined the PDP in 2003, she has never looked back. Olujimi has always been very consistent. Olujimi knows the ideals of governance, the ideals of politics. Olujimi has given back to the PDP more than any politician in the state including Fayose himself. If anything at all, it had been Fayose who had been junketing from one party to the other between 2002 and 2020. After his inglorious removal in 2006, he went to APP, Labour Party, and several other parties. He even contested and campaigned openly against the PDP in several elections. It was after his re-admittance to the PDP that he was able to get his second term. Fayose is who he is today because of PDP, so, he cannot be greater than the maker. PDP was formed in 1999, but he joined in 2002. Leadership is not contested, it is earned, that is the problem Fayose and his people are having. Olujimi is the symbol of the PDP in Ekiti State now.

As it is, what is the way forward for the PDP in Ekiti?

You cannot solve a problem from the effect. You solve a problem from the cause. Those who know the origin of this problem must be ready to proffer solutions. Except the national body wants to trade off Ekiti State, it has to come in. Already, the party is divided along two parallel lines. This is a litmus test for the party at the national.

The Supreme Court has nullified the judgment which convicted the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.

A seven-man panel of the
apex court also set aside the judgment which convicted Ude Udeogu, a former Director of Finance and Account at the Abia State Government House.
The Supreme Court gave the judgement on Friday, more than one year after both men were convicted of corruption allegations levelled against them by the Federal Government.
Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos had sentenced Senator Kalu to 12 years imprisonment in his judgement delivered on April 24, 2019.
He had also sentenced Mr Udeogu to 10 years imprisonment on the same day.
Displeased with the judgement of the Federal High Court, Kalu and Udeogu filed an appeal to challenge their sentencing at the Supreme Court.
The apex court, in a unanimous verdict on the appeal delivered by Justice Ejembi Eko, declared that the conviction of the appellants was null and void.
Justice Eko explained that the declaration was on the ground that Justice Mohammed Idris was already a Justice of the Court of Appeal, as at the time he delivered the judgment sentencing the appellants.
He held that a Justice of the Court of Appeal cannot operate as a judge of the Federal High Court.
The apex court, therefore, ordered the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to reassign the case for trial.

Olujimi Rejects Inauguration of Fictitious PDP Ward Executives

A faction of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ekiti State, loyal to Senator Biodun Olujimi has faulted the inauguration of the ward executives of the party in the state without following due process.

Olujimi rejected the decision of the party in a statement the Chairman, Ekiti PDP Repositioning Movement, Mr. Alaba Agboola signed on her behalf.

The party had conducted two congresses in Ekiti with former governor Ayodele Fayose group laying claim to victory for his faction while Olujimi had insisted that it was the congress conducted by her faction that must be recognised.

But Olujimi said the party leadership had taken position on the controversy surrounding the conduct of the ward congress in the state with the inauguration of authentic ward leaders on Friday in line with court’s pronouncement.

The lawmaker described the inauguration done by Fayose as illegal, null and void even as she urged the party members to discountenance the said inauguration.

Olujimi insisted that the group inaugurated by Gboyega Oguntuase- led State Working Committee of the party was the authentic ward executive of the party in Ekiti.

The lawmaker said: “Our attention has been drawn to a purported inauguration of Ward Executives in Ekiti state on April 30 by Mr. Niyi Idowu, who is based in Lagos and not a member of our party, PDP.

“We wish to state categorically that no such inauguration ever took place in Ekiti State and we stand solidly by the position of the State Executive Committee as expressed by its Chairman, Gboyega Oguntuase to the effect that the said inauguration has no basis in law and fact and should be disregarded.

“Our people should learn lessons from the pronouncement of our courts to the effect that only the state organ of a party can inaugurate its local chapters. This is the extant position of the law as pronounced by a High Court in Calabar just a few days ago.

“The true position in Ekiti State is that only the ward executives elected on March 7 conducted by the PDP and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission, and security agencies in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 and Sections 85 and 86 of the Electoral Act remain authentic and have assumed work from 1st May 2020.

“As the tenure of the last ward executive ended at 12 midnight on April 30, the tenure of the authentic ward executives begins from today and they have been duly inaugurated and begun to function,” the lawmaker explained.

Olujimi charged the new ward executives to carry every member of the party along in decision-making and embark on aggressive mobilisation of all factions in their various wards to build a united, cohesive and well-grounded PDP in Ekiti.

Olujimi, thus, directed the new ward executives to begin to hold their meetings in line with government directives and guidelines on COVID-19 pandemic.

She added that the authentic list of the ward executives in Ekiti State would be published in due course.
