The benevolent gesture of the Senator representing South Senatorial District of Ekiti State, Mrs Biodun Olujimi, has been described as uncommon and commendable in Nigeria democratic representation.

Present at the event include Alhaji Idris Yinusa the Chief Imam of Ode Ekiti, Alhaji Muraina Ajibade Chairman, Ekiti East Muslim Council, Alhafa Yekini Azeez, Ikere Ekiti; Alhaji Kolapo Lawal, Emure; Alhaji Usman Hassan, Ise Ekiti and Alhaji Salaudeen Adebayo, Ilawe Ekiti among others.

The Chief Imam of Ilawe Ekiti Central Mosque, Alhaji Salaudeen Adebayo who spoke on behalf of others said the food items which included Beans, Semovita, Noodles, Garri, Beverages and cash gifts were timely and will have positive effect on the Muslim community, especially as their fasting period continues under the lockdown order of the state government.

The Imams and the Muslim communities chairmen who represented their members from across the six local government areas of the South Senatorial District said the uncommon representation of Senator Olujimi has distinguished her from both past and serving other senators, while they offered prayers to God to give her the grace to succeed in her endeavors.

Hon. Ojo-Ade Fajana who presented the items on behalf of the Senator urged the religious leaders to seize the holy period of Ramadan to offer special prayers for Ekiti State and Nigeria in general especially as the world continues to battle survival from the deadly disease of Coronavirus.

Ojo-Ade said it was necessary for the fasting Muslims to intercede for the country as the strange virus is not only a threat to Nigeria economy but also to human existence. He however appealed to the Muslim communities to live in line with the NCDC directives and observe all necessary precautionary measures by regular washing of hands, maintaining social distancing and use nose cover to collectively eliminate COVID-19 in Nigeria. He said.
