Ekiti PDP: "There's difference between Criminality and Loyalty" ~ Oguntuase chides Fayose.

Sequel to the ongoing political events in Ekiti State towards the forthcoming congress, which is expected to kick start by March 7th 2020.

The party chairman, Barr Gboyega Oguntuase on his returning trip from the party's National Executives Council (NEC) meeting held in Abuja during the week, was hosted by the people of Ikole-Ekiti the headquarter sit of Ikole local government.

Oguntuase was received by the large crowd of party members who gathered from all the wards across the local government was flanked by leaders and stakeholders of the party across the state such as; Otunba Yinka Akerele, H. E Dr Sikiru Tai Lawal, Alh Lateef Ajijola and Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi amongst others.

Why reacting to his disloyalty allegation by Fayose, Oguntuase stated that, "There's clear difference between Criminality and Loyalty". I was very loyal to the former governor during his tenure until he came up with an act of Criminality by selling off the party secretariat, urging me to sign such document is criminal act and i vehemently declined it.  My resistant to all his antics aimed at luring me to be part of the shameful, disgraceful and criminal acts is my offense." Barr Oguntuase said.

Alh Lateef Ajijola, the Director General of kehinde Odebunmi Chairmanship campaign council in his reaction recounts the Scenario that played out on Dec 7th 2014 when he won the Senatorial primary of the Ekiti Central Senatorial District, which the former governor willingly hijacked from me and gave to a person which is no more in the party today.

The eloquence, oratory and highly respected DG introduced Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi as the incoming state chairman of PDP. He noted that, he (Hon. Odebunmi) remains the only person with high pedigree, integrity and humility to foster unity among the party members and return it to power.

Barr Gboyega Oguntuase lamented fayose's questionable character which he described as the major reason why party leaders have rejected the former governor.

He said, "As at today none of his former deputies are with him. He spent almost eight years as  Governor, none of those who served under him as Speakers of the State Assembly are with him, only one of the 26 House of Assembly members during his first term is miserably left with him. This is pathetic!.

Less than two years out of officeas Governor, seventeen(17) out of his 26 Assembly members are no longer with him. Fayose needs to retrace his steps and sort genuine repentance from Ekiti people he looted rather than his consistent deceit and gangsterism." Oguntuase said.

THE MARLIANS: A Movement Birthed By Naira Marley, "The Bum Is Better Than The Certificate".

By Mallam Abdul Okwechime

 Parents are panicking.

Mothers are secretly checking on their baby girls’ undies. Teachers are having sleepless nights trying to make the kids wear belts around their waists, again.

The fad among a growing number of teenagers is ‘no panties three times a week’, Wednesday, Fridays and Mondays. No matter the dress or dress sense at whatever occasion, belts are not worn. Their motto is, “the bum is better than the certificate”. Your bum, they claim, opens more and better doors than any certificate. Their call to life is that you can be all you want to be without your parents breathing down your neck or choosing a path for you. If your dreams and aspirations don’t tally with those your parents had for you, jettison theirs and follow your own dream.

These kids have caught the new bug in town. They are Marlians. It is a movement, if you wish, birthed by Naira Marley, the Nigerian rapper of Yoruba descent. And that, or rather, he, is the problem.

“Naira Marley has beats peculiar to him alone. Without his songs his beats are recognisable. The patterns are unique to him. The bells, a distinct use of the cymbals, constantly in unison with the high hats and tightly knit together by a solemn bass line”
Naira Marley hit the news when he was arraigned in a Court for internet fraud in Lagos, Nigeria. He was little known before this time, not even as a musician. When his music came under spotlight, particularly from curious Nigerians who wanted to know this Enfant terrible, it turned out to be a glorification of everything fraud and drugs. That was how he made his entrance into the Nigerian music. And he has grown in “notoriety” with time, waxing stronger song after song. He sings about butts, praises tramadol, codeine, and other psychedelic drugs. His voice comes across as one very high on drugs but laced with a patterned beat which is sustained by a definite tone of bells. The kids love it. The beat is danceable and uniquely his, unpretentious tribal beats. That, is the difference. An Identity. Now everyone is singing ..gb’Ä™sÄ™ k’o t’esu mø’lÄ™…”,   Naira Marley’s sins are no longer remembered, everyone is dancing and singing along the maverick’s music. He is unrepentantly vulgar, but who cares? Now he has won the kids and everybody is panicking.

The fear of the Marlians is not in its music. It is the lifestyle, the so-called life of self-fulfillment, where your sexuality is viewed a stronger asset to life than education. The Marlian Population is soaring by the day and threatens to pull down roofs of concert halls. Yet nothing really binds the throng of followers beyond the examples of how life should be lived as portrayed by Naira Marley, their cult hero. He literally rose from grass to grace. By some twisted logic the kids are ready to forgive his crimes and view same as the routes to fame. What infamy? They say if Naira Marley could make it alone with no parental support, so can anyone else with determination.

Born Azeez Fashola, in Agege, a sprawling mix of lower and middle class populace with high crime rate in the north of Lagos, on May 9, 1994, he left for England at the age of 11 and lived in Peckham, South London. He attended Porlock Hall and Walworth School for his secondary school. He later graduated with Distinction in Business from the Peckham Academy and an additional degree in Business Law from the Crossways College, London. As a kid he dreamt to be an MC but was made into a rapper by the company he kept in Nigeria. Olamide, LilKesh, Zlatan are a few of those. His first single, “Marry Juana”, a bastadised coinage of the term ‘Marijuana’ brought him immediate attention. However, on May 10, 2018, a day after his 24th Birthday, he was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), for internet fraud. The case is still in court. So beyond the noise, is a well schooled, self made man who is deliberately bringing attention to himself. Naira Marley is married to two wives and they have four children.

We however need to put this sensationalism in proper perspective in the context of the Nigerian music industry, especially its hip-hop section. It’s not by coincidence that the industry is Showbiz   It is the business of show. What we sell in the industry is show. Show arrests attention. Next to show, is the substance. To succeed you must first, discover yourself, get out the substance in you. So, substance first. But in the industry the show must necessarily propel the substance, which will, thereafter, sustain the show. You must possess the two. In the business of show in Nigeria today, Naira Marley has taken over, and that is the truth.  Substance is the issue next. But I must say, the substance is evolving. Hopefully it will. And when that time comes, we might have a new star in our hands, whether we like him or not.

The moral issues of his rise to fame is what is bothering the parents and elders. No need to fear I can assure. First, there is no commune of the Marlians, so strategising for any ideology is not possible.  Naira Marley, doesn’t live here, in Nigeria. His family lives in Europe. Lately his court case had brought him into the country more times than he would ordinarily come.  Funny enough he doesn’t like discussing the Marlian movement, at least according to his aides. That means there is no ideology to propagate beyond the show. He hardly preaches about the belief, if indeed it’s a belief, on stage or anywhere else for that matter. Some of the viral lifestyle videos of him are actually video shoots.  There is no Marlian house anywhere, where half naked men and women are dancing by the pool, where psychedelic drugs are freely used and abused. Nowhere. So if any person fears an uprising some day by a group of Fun seeking youths, know that no guts exists amongst the Marlians for such an adventure.

Naira Marley-The 25 Year Old Was Unknown Before the EFCC Arrest
But what of the drugs: Tramadol,  codeine, rohypnol, …? These are frightening to any parent. Naira Marley is not the reason. Drugs are everywhere. Everywhere. School kids, House wives, workers … are all hooked on substances. Weed is the mildest of these. All the neighborhood clubs are indeed drug dens.  Those innocent looking drinking-water bottles, those packets of juices or the plastic soft drinks bottles, that the kids carry about, contain, most of the times, mixtures of today’s psychedelic drugs.  The Marlians didn’t add to it, they only proclaim it. Drugs have been part of the story of the show business industry since time immemorial. Wine, Weed, Women and Music are the ways of Show business. You can hardly separate them.

Great stars are neither Church Ministers nor choirmasters. They are unusual people, eccentric, bohemian and most of the time non conformists. They are too much in a creative hurry, too much in their world to be bothered about the ordered society. Name them; Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Micheal Jackson, The Beatles, Immortal FELA, Beyoncé, Nneka, … the list is endless. Luckily the lifestyle of the Marlians is mild compared with those of the Superstars mentioned earlier.

These fears of the Marlians vividly remind me of the fear of KALAKUTA REPUBLIC, back in the day. Just like today, none of our parents back then, clapped for us when we followed FELA.  As a matter of fact, this cult following was the first major problem that confronted FELA and the followers. Our parents went all out to kick against the FELA “scourge”. They initiated arrests and criminal charges against him. Some of us were disowned by parents and family but the beat and the show went on. The rest is now history.

But our parents like today’s parents were right. Some went down the drain in that adventure expectedly. But a majority went on to achieve success in our endeavors. Above all, FELA became the most famous and the biggest musician ever to emerge from Africa. What if the parents back then were able to cage FELA and the KALAKUTANS? We probably would have lost this gift to the Music world. This is not saying that Naira Marley is another “FELALIKE” Phenomenon. There is no commune in the mould of KALAKUTA, No deliberate ideology being propagated by the hero of Marlian movement. But why not?

Let’s bother more about his music. Naira Marley has beats peculiar to him alone. Without his songs his beats are recognisable. The patterns are unique to him. The bells, a distinct use of the cymbals, constantly in unison with the high hats and tightly knit together by a solemn bass line are becoming his trade mark sound. I hear critics say his rap is too tribal and lacks international appeal. Lie. You don’t need to understand what he says to feel his beat. Most of these critics are indeed unconsciously reacting, not to his music, but his bohemian lifestyle which is a “threat to an organised family life”. However, that, is neither here nor there for both the Marlians and the rest of us.

For the Marlians a lot of work still needs to be done on the music. It has started on a very good footing by creating a peculiar beat to itself. It could be by default but it has come to stay for now. But music cannot be based solely on propagating everything illegitimate. It won’t work. Sooner or later the ordered society will stoutly react. His lyrics must change drastically and deliberately. That way he will begin to win the sympathy of all, otherwise apathy from the society would stall the Marlian dream.

For the rest of us, no need to panic. The Marlians are not about to take over our children. No, they possess neither the guts nor the capacity to so do. The non conformist stance of the movement has no ideological backing. It’s indeed not a movement but an euphoric outflow sustained now, by the streetwise lyrics of its creator. Of course, there will be casualties. Some kids will fall by the wayside, carried away by the show and tell of the moment. But that will just be about that. Others will come out of it stronger and better and if eventually a strong music brand emerges from these furore, these will be its disciples.

“He sings about butts, praises tramadol, codeine, and other psychedelic drugs. His voice comes across as one very high on drugs but laced with a patterned beat which is sustained by a definite tone of bells. The kids love it.”
Rather than loose sleep over The Marlians, just remind your kids that Naira Marley went to school and has certificates and his career to show, not butts or sexuality. Full Stop.

Boko Haram block Yobe Highway, demanding Identification from road user

Boko Haram fighters on Friday blocked the Damaturu-Gashua Highway, searching and demanding identification documents from road users.
The insurgents, who allegedly operated unchallenged for over two hours were said to have abducted some vigilantes, seizing their patrol vehicle.
In a statement, the Chairman, Network of Civil Society Organisations in Yobe State, Alhaji Baba Shehu, claimed the hoodlums invaded Kaliyari community in the Tarmuwa Local Government Area of the state around 10.30am on Friday.
He added that the terrorists after storming Kaliyari, about 75km from Damaturu, blocked the highway, demanding ID cards from motorists.
Shehu said his friend, who was among those stopped and searched by the gangsters, confirmed the hoodlums were looking for anybody having a government or related ID card.

Adamawa under attack as soldiers, Boko Haram engage in gun battle
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army engaged in a fierce gun battle with the Boko Haram fighters who invaded Garkida town in the Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State on Friday.
A resident of the town, Joshua Malgwi, told one of our correspondents that the shootout took place in the evening.
He said, “The insurgents are right now exchanging gunfire with soldiers. The heavy gunfire has forced most residents to remain indoors for fear of being caught in the crossfire.”
He said the insurgents entered the community via Bijibiji.
According to reports, there are fears some residents may have been killed by the invaders.
Garkida is located on the Gombi-Biu-Damaturu Highway close to Borno State and Sambisa Forest.

Ekiti PDP Condemned Fayose's Action, In Creating Unwarranted Chaos Across The LGs.

Jackson Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti.

Collation of ward executives by Fayose group unconstitutional - Ekiti PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party  in Ekiti state has described the purported collation of executive committee members/video recording in the wards by a group associated with  the former governor of the state, Dr Ayo Fayose as another ploy to desterbilise the party in the state.

The party noted that collating ward executives/video recording before the congress of the party is a landmine purposely planted by the former governor to create unwarranted chaos across the local government areas in the state so that the congress could be marred by violence.

In a statement by the party's Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr Jackson Adebayo,  the party maintained that any leader of the party engaging in collation of names for a congress that is billed to take place in March by now is only creating an avenue for avoidable suspicion and acrimony.

The party said that while  all members are waiting for the day of the congress to choose those who will run the affair of the party for the next four years, the Fayose - group are busy publishing adoption of candidates in different wards and local government to confuse members why some even innocently believe that such adoption was the congress in the real sence.

The party appeals to the group engaging in this shenanigan to desist in order to create an atmosphere of free and credible congress of the party in the state.

The party equally called on all members to disregard all the groups adoptions, saying that all members of the party who are interested in one position or the others are free to contest in the coming state congress which will start at the ward level on March 7th,  2020.

BREAKING: Supreme Court adjourns hearing of Ihedioha’s application to March 2

The Supreme Court has adjourned hearing till March 2 this year in the application by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and sacked Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha.
The PDP and Ihedioha are, by the application, praying the court to, among others, reverse its judgment on January 14 this year, which sacked Ihedioha and replaced him with Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

At the mention of the case on Tuesday, Ihedioha’s lead lawyer, Kanu Agabi sought for time to enable parties file the necessary papers, a request other lawyers in the case did not object to.

A seven-man panel of the Supreme Court, led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, in a brief ruling, grant the request for adjournment and adjourned till March 2, 2020.

Details shortly.

INEC Dismissed APC’s Demand For A Fresh Guber Poll In Bayelsa, Party Heads For Supreme Court.

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday ruled out any fresh governorship election in Bayelsa State as requested by the All Progressives Congress.
INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, in an interview with one of our correspondents in Abuja, dismissed the APC’s demand for a fresh governorship poll in Bayelsa State.

He said the commission on Friday concluded its work on the Bayelsa State governorship poll.
Also, top officials of  INEC, who confided in The PUNCH on Sunday, said the commission had never granted such a request and that of the APC would not be the first.
One of the officials said, “The APC is asking for what is not possible. The party should forget a fresh governorship election in Bayelsa State.”
The APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, had in a letter dated February  14, 2020 and addressed to the INEC Chairman,  Mahmood Yakubu,  called for a fresh election in Bayelsa State.
The APC national chairman said the swearing-in of the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party,  Douyle Diri,  as the state governor was unconstitutional as he did not meet the mandatory constitutional requirements.
The party said although the Supreme Court nullified its candidate, David Lyon’s victory, it stated that  Diri also failed to meet the mandatory requirements to become governor.
It said the court judgment did not void the votes of the APC  in the  November 16, 2019 governorship poll in Bayelsa State.   It, therefore, said its votes must be reckoned with.
The APC had said, ‘‘We are aware that Section 179(1)(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria mandatorily requires a candidate for an election to the office of governor of a state to have not less than one quarter of the votes cast at the election in each of at least two thirds of all the local government areas in the state before the candidate can be deemed to have been duly elected as the governor of the state. This mandatory requirement was affirmed by the Supreme Court in the judgment under reference.”
According to the party,  Bayelsa State has eight local government areas, hence the two thirds of at least eight local government areas will be approximately six local government areas.
The Supreme Court had on Thursday nullified the candidacy of Lyon and his running mate,   Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, on the grounds that Degi-Eremienyo presented false information about his educational qualifications in his Form CF001 submitted to INEC as a candidate for the 2019 election.
Justice Ejembi Ekwo, who read the lead judgment, had said Degi-Eremienyo’s disqualification on the basis of submitting false information to INEC had infected the joint ticket with which he and Lyon contested the election and emerged victorious.
Shortly after the judgment was delivered, Oshiomhole had vowed that Diri would not be sworn in as the  Bayelsa State governor because he did not meet the constitutional spread of votes in the governorship poll.
But in their swift reactions, the PDP and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, dismissed the APC national chairman’s claim and insisted that Diri would be inaugurated.
After a meeting of its top management on Friday, INEC, at a press conference confirmed that Diri met the constitutional requirements.
It argued that votes of the APC candidates had been invalidated by the apex court judgment. It, therefore, presented a certificate of return to Diri, who was sworn in as the fifth governor of Bayelsa State on Friday.
After the declaration, our work is done – INEC
When asked if and when the commission would meet to deliberate on the APC’s letter seeking a fresh governorship election in Bayelsa State, INEC Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Osaze-Uzzi, dismissed the party’s demand.
Osaze-Uzzi asked, “Fresh election to which office or seat?” When our correspondent reminded him that it (the fresh poll) was for the office of the governor and that the APC had written INEC demanding a fresh election, he retorted, “After the declaration. Our work is done, please.”
PDP, APC clash over Oshiomhole’s letter
But the PDP and the APC clashed on Sunday over the latter’s call for a fresh governorship poll in Bayelsa State.
While the PDP said the APC’s demand was irresponsible, the ruling party (the APC) stated the opposition party was  being hypocritical.
The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, in an interview with one of our correspondents, advised INEC to throw the letter into a trash can.
Ologbondiyan said by the judgment of the Supreme Court, the APC had been disqualified from participating in any fresh election in the state even if it had been ordered by the apex court.
He noted that the Supreme Court in the judgment voided the participation of the APC in the November 16 governorship election.
The PDP spokesman added that the APC  had lost the right to stand for any fresh election.
He, therefore, wondered what the APC would gain by calling for a fresh election since according to him, it (the APC) could not participate in the fresh election.
He, however, said that the PDP got the required constitutional votes and spread for its candidate, Diri, to be sworn in. He stated that INEC did the right thing and obeyed the Supreme Court by issuing a certificate of return to Diri.
He alleged that the APC and its national chairman were plotting to cause a crisis in the polity. He called on the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to caution Oshiomhole.
He also reiterated the PDP’s call on the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, to arrest Oshiomhole for allegedly making inciting utterances, which he said fuelled the crisis in Bayelsa State before and after the inauguration of the governor.
The PDP spokesman warned Oshiomhole and the APC against trying to muzzle INEC.
Ologbondiyan said, “First and foremost, it smirks of illiteracy for the APC to say that the PDP did not meet the required spread or the number of votes for it to have been declared the winner of the election”
He accused the APC and its leaders of trying to throw the country into a crisis by destroying the polity.
The PDP spokesman said, “If you look at Edo State, where their chairman comes from, the state is permanently in a crisis; houses are being burnt, people are being killed and that is what the leadership of the APC led by Oshiomhole wants to extend to the entire region of the south and the nation as well. We call on President Buhari to caution Oshiomhole or the IGP should arrest him as we have demanded and question him on why he wants to throw Nigeria into turmoil.
“It is irresponsible of the APC to have written such a letter even when they know that even if a rerun had been ordered by the Supreme Court, they would not participate in that election. The letter is an irresponsible piece of letter that should be dropped into the trash can.”
“The APC are sore losers. They should find somewhere to sit, cover their faces and leak their wounds instead of asking for a fresh poll from INEC. Oshiomhole needs to understand that he does not command INEC and that the commission is not a parastatal or an agency under the APC.”
PDP is being hypocritical – APC
But the APC accused the PDP of being hypocritical by faulting its letter to INEC.
The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, while responding the PDP’s criticism, told The PUNCH that Nigerians were fully aware of the antics of the opposition party anytime a judgment was against it.
He said, “This is the same PDP that went to the European Union office and the embassies of western countries to protest when the Supreme Court ruled against them in the case of Imo. They went everywhere saying democracy was in danger.
“So, now, democracy is no longer in danger in the case of Bayelsa because they feel the judgment is what they want. Is this not hypocrisy?  If they are sure of themselves, why are they afraid that we will win when the case is reviewed? They should face their problems and leave the APC alone.”
APC may head for Supreme Court this week
Meanwhile, there are strong indications that the APC will be heading towards the Supreme Court this week to seek a review of the judgment annulling the victory of  Lyon.
The  PUNCH gathered in Abuja on Sunday that the party’s National Legal Adviser, Babatunde Ogala, was consulting with other lawyers within and outside the party as well as the party leadership to take a final decision.
Although the APC national legal adviser was non-committal when asked when the party was going to court, he said, “You will know when we go to court.”
However, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Nabena, said the dispute over the Bayelsa governorship election was “far from over.”
According to him, the position of the APC is well-articulated in the letter written to INEC by Oshiomhole, in which the party demanded a fresh election.
He said, “Like our national chairman said, we are a law-abiding party. That is why we wrote INEC even as we prepare to return to court. We still have confidence in the judicial process. The contention on the Bayelsa governorship poll is far from over.”
Nabena said the party would go to court to challenge the National Youth Service Corps certificate presented by the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Oborawharievwo Ewhrudjakpo.

Bayelsa: Olujimi Hails Supreme Court, Says Judgment A Stunning Victory For Democracy.

Chief Sanya Atofarati, Abuja.

The Minority leader of the 8th Senate, Chief Biodun Olujimi has described the ruling of the Supreme Court in favour of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Candidate, Diri Duoye and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo of Bayelsa State as  victory for Democracy, Justice and the rule of law, in Nigeria.

The five-member panel of the apex court led by Justice Mary Odili had nullified the election of Mr Lyon on the grounds that his deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, presented false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in aid of his qualification for the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.

Olujimi had during a press interview in Abuja on Sunday said; "The Supreme Court has again made the point that no one is above the law".

“ The judgement is a victory for democracy, triumph of truth over falsehood and the affirmation of the integrity of the judiciary. With this, lesson has been served that only strict adherence to rule of law and due process will take the country to her greater heights." She added.

Senator Olujimi however urged the newly sworn in Governor and his Deputy to reflect on the tenets of democracy and its founding fathers which is to primarily cater equally for the development of every mankind.

Speaking further, Olujimi said; "The courage displayed by the Supreme Court in delivering the judgment at this critical time in our national life has also restored the confidence of Nigerians in the institution of the Judiciary and our democratic order."

TB Joshua Warned David Lyon About His Deputy, Said He Was Seeing Obstacle Through Him.

Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo said as a Bishop and Secretary General of Olumba Olumba he can’t attend SCOAN

But for a little humility,Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo would have been the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state today.According to a close aide of David Lyon, pomposity and arrogance caused them the ticket.”I was one of the entourage that followed David Lyon from Bayelsa when he visited The SCOAN three times.

I was there when Prophet TB Joshua insisted to David Lyon that he wanted to see the Deputy-Governorship candidate Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo – because he was seeing an obstacle through him. However, he said he would not come to The SCOAN because he is a Bishop and Secretary General to Olumba Olumba”
”After Degi-Eremienyo refused to come – despite several invitations from TB Joshua – the man of God publicly declared  in the church that it was too early for Lyon to share his testimony and that the situation still required serious prayers. I believe David Lyon tried all efforts to bring him but the man refused to come to the Synagogue”
Even on Tuesday(this week), David Lyon was in The Synagogue when the Supreme Court confirmed him as the rightful candidate. TB Joshua again asked him the whereabouts of his Deputy-Governor elect, stressing that he was still seeing an obstacle. Joshua was invited as a special guest to the inauguration on Friday but he said he would not attend because of that obstacle. David Lyon laughed and told him he would come with Degi-Eremienyo to The SCOAN for testimony after the inauguration… Today, we can all see what has happened. The prophet warned Lyon but Degi felt too big now see what happened” the aide said amidst sobs.

Stop Being Lazy, Start Walking To Exercise Your Body, APC Chieftain Urges Lagosians

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State, Lanre Razak, has urged residents of the state to see the current ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles in the state as opportunity to start walking to exercise their bodies for their general well-being.
Razak who spoke to journalists said criminals use motorcycles and tricycles to perpetrate crimes like ritual killings, bag snatching, rape and kidnapping in the state. He said the devastation caused by commercial motorcycles outweigh the benefits. He commended the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for providing more buses and ferries to ease the effects of the ban on the residents.
“You will weep if you go to the Orthopedic Hospital at Igbobi, Lagos and see the situation of things at the section where Okada and tricycle accident victims are treated. Restricting their operations on the highways is a welcome idea,” Razak said.
“People should stop being lazy by wanting a transportation system that would take them to their doorsteps instead of walking to exercise their bodies for their wellbeing. Even in advanced climes, people walk to their bus stops and railway stations to board buses and trains.
“I thank Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for providing several additional busses as alternatives to ease the effect of the restrictions on the residents. The governor is also working hard on getting ferries and completing the rail as other means of public transportation to cushion the effects of the restriction,” he added.

PDP Leaders Disown Fayose, Adopt Olujimi

Leaders of Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti South West Local Government area on Monday dissociated from the purported endorsement of Mr Bisi Kolawole for the party's chairmanship position in the state by the immediate past governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose.

In a communique jointly signed by the  party's stakeholders who converged from across the 11 Wards of the local government said the position became necessary to disabuse the minds of unsuspecting party members who may misconstrue the independent position of Fayose as that of the party leaders.

Among other points, the leaders resolved as follows:

1) That the Wards and Local Government Congresses must be conducted in an open and transparent manner without Compromise and that the Wards and Local Government Congresses must be ELECTIVE and not SELECTIVE.

2) That SENATOR BIODUN OLUJIMI is, and remains the LEADER of PDP in Ekiti State and we resolutely commit our loyalty and allegiance to HER and the PDP.

3) That we pass VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on the Barr. Gboyega Oguntuase led State Working Committee SWC in their efforts at repositioning the party, instilling discipline, and entrenching constitutionalism into the Party thereby building peoples confidence in our party.

4) That the suffering Youths and women folk shall be accorded priority in all the party activities. To this end, the 35 percent affirmative for women and 25 percent Youth inclusiveness shall be encouraged based on equity, commitment and loyalty.

5) That everybody should go back to his/her ward to continue an aggressive mobilization for the party.

7) That we welcome back all our genuinely repentant Party members who defected or stepped aside as a result of past misdemeanor, imposition and Party mismanagement by former Governor Ayo Fayose.

Barr. Bunmi Olugbade, in his reaction stated that the leaders shall stand and support any State Chairmanship Candidate who enjoys the support of COLLEGIATE LEADERSHIP of the party rather than that of a ONE-MAN-ENDORSED-ASPIRANT contrary to the ONE-MAN showmanship of Fayose in Ekiti PDP.
