PDP Leaders Disown Fayose, Adopt Olujimi
Leaders of Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti South West Local Government area on Monday dissociated from the purported endorsement of Mr Bisi Kolawole for the party's chairmanship position in the state by the immediate past governor of Ekiti, Ayo Fayose.
In a communique jointly signed by the party's stakeholders who converged from across the 11 Wards of the local government said the position became necessary to disabuse the minds of unsuspecting party members who may misconstrue the independent position of Fayose as that of the party leaders.
Among other points, the leaders resolved as follows:
1) That the Wards and Local Government Congresses must be conducted in an open and transparent manner without Compromise and that the Wards and Local Government Congresses must be ELECTIVE and not SELECTIVE.
2) That SENATOR BIODUN OLUJIMI is, and remains the LEADER of PDP in Ekiti State and we resolutely commit our loyalty and allegiance to HER and the PDP.
3) That we pass VOTE OF CONFIDENCE on the Barr. Gboyega Oguntuase led State Working Committee SWC in their efforts at repositioning the party, instilling discipline, and entrenching constitutionalism into the Party thereby building peoples confidence in our party.
4) That the suffering Youths and women folk shall be accorded priority in all the party activities. To this end, the 35 percent affirmative for women and 25 percent Youth inclusiveness shall be encouraged based on equity, commitment and loyalty.
5) That everybody should go back to his/her ward to continue an aggressive mobilization for the party.
7) That we welcome back all our genuinely repentant Party members who defected or stepped aside as a result of past misdemeanor, imposition and Party mismanagement by former Governor Ayo Fayose.
Barr. Bunmi Olugbade, in his reaction stated that the leaders shall stand and support any State Chairmanship Candidate who enjoys the support of COLLEGIATE LEADERSHIP of the party rather than that of a ONE-MAN-ENDORSED-ASPIRANT contrary to the ONE-MAN showmanship of Fayose in Ekiti PDP.
