Senator Duro Faseyi of Ekiti North, PDP State Chairman, Hon Kehinde Odebunmi, state women leader, Mrs Yemisi Afolabi, the party’s Senatorial chairman, Hon. Anifowose including the state Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Oladipo Ebenezer were among the dignitaries that graced the inauguration of PDP Executives in Ilejemeje Local Government today September 17, 2020.
The dignitaries in their separate speeches at the event laid emphasis on "unity is the key to win future elections”.
Duro Faseyi said: Despite the fact that he had nothing to loose or gain in the crises rocking the party in the state but only submitting himself to the task of returning the party to the path of greater heights. He urged all the party faithful to come under one umbrella and build a PDP that is capable of winning elections in 2022.
“Let us close ranks and work to deliver Ekiti for PDP through this party officers. Though we have no victor, nor vanquished in today’s exercise but a victory for all PDP in Ilejemeje and Ekiti North. We are members of the same family. We may have some little disagreement, at the end of the day, it is the party that wins, not any individual or group.
“If truly we love this party, let us put the past behind us and return this party to the summit. Let us unite and work as a team in the overall interest of our party and people of Ekiti State. He added”.
PDP State Chairman counsels new excos
Meanwhile, Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi, the state Chairman of the PDP congratulated the new Ilejemeje PDP Executive Committee, advising them to work for the growth of the party.
The oath of office was administered by Hon. Joshua Oladimeji, the Immediate past state organizing secretary of the party.
New Ilejemeje PDP Chairman, Pastor Rotimi Dare thanked the leadership and members of the party for giving him the opportunity to serve.
He said, God has used Senators Duro Faseyi, Biodun Olujimi, and host of leaders in the state to rebuild a new PDP in Ekiti State. He saluted the resilience of PDP in weathering the storm.
Rotimi assured that the new Executive will serve the party diligently.
The erstwhile commissioner and party chieftain, Segun Akinwumi thanked all the guest of party for making the event a read letter day and affirm that Ilejemeje will continue to work for the party to ensure future victories.
