Ahead of the Ogun State Local Goverment election, the leadership of Southwest Peoples Democratic Party PDP has expressed optimism that the opposition party will spring surprises by winning the Saturday's council election in Ogun state.
This assurance was contained in a statement by Chief Sanya Atofarati, the PDP Zonal Publicity Secretary on Wednesday in Ijebu-Ode during the Ogun-East Senatorial District rally of the party.
The party said the results of next Saturday's election council polls will expose the two years of disastrous administration of Gov Dapo Abiodun/APC led government which has left the state in dire straits with battered economy, dilapidated infrastructure and insecurity leading to helpless Ogun indigenes to take refugee in foreign land.
PDP leadership thus encouraged members not to succumb to any pressure by the APC to woo them as the party has nothing to offer them than empty promises and filthy lucre.
Atofarati who commended the large turn out of the people at gathering said; "With your impressive turn out for this rally, you have further rekindled our hope and your readiness to take over the leadership of your state for progressive governance. Therefore, we encourage you all to resist any form of intimidation and inducement before, during and after the election."
