...Leaders should rally round flag bearer.—
A concerned PDP youth stakeholder in Ekiti South West Local Government Area of Ekiti State has called on his party, PDP to zone its governorship ticket to Ekiti South Senatorial District.
Oluwasimirin in a conversation with the correspondent of Ojaomonews.com said the Ekiti South Senatorial District was the only district that had not produce a governor since the return to democratic rule in 1999.
He argued that it would only be fair to allow the district to produce the next executive Governor of the State of Honour.
This was contained in a statement issued at the end of an interactive session held in Ado-Ekiti with our correspondent on Sunday.
His statement reads, “Having felt the pulse of the entire party members as well as voters in the community, I resolved to fully back the call that the PDP should pick its governorship candidate from Ekiti South Senatorial District. That PDP State Elders, Ekiti South Senatorial PDP elders and all concerned party men should throw their weight behind Ekiti South Senatorial District agenda in the selection of the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the interest of -justice, fair play, equity and party integrity. It is only fair that Ekiti South should be allowed to take its rightful turn. I therefore urge party leaders, stakeholders, women, youths of our dear party to support wholeheartedly the south candidate," Oluwasimirin said."
He further stated that: “The political history of Ekiti at this moment has arrived at a juncture where it must necessarily see the convergence of merit, competence, equity, fairness, and continuity of the giant developmental strides as what is politically correct."
”Without regards to any political affiliation, this fact must be recognised that the best space for any political party to pick a competent, visionary and progressive-minded candidate from is the South Senatorial District."
