PDP stakeholders in Ekiti South West Local Government area of Ekiti State have cautioned the former governor Ayo Fayose to desist from his usual method of divide and rule, to avoid being embarrassed, when next he visits Ekiti South West Local government and should stop sponsoring dissidents to cause division in Ekiti PDP.
The Stakeholders in a communiqué signed by former state Publicity Secretary of the party, Elder Kayode Oguntoye and Hon Tolu Dada, on behalf of the 43 others said the uncivilized trend of Fayose's politics of blackmail and falsehood is very barbaric.
The communiqué was in reaction to the statement credited to former chairman of the Local government, Hon. Lanre Omolase and the four ex- Federal lawmakers, where they alleged that the Senator representing South senatorial district of the state, Mrs Biodun Olujimi was responsible for the position of the stakeholders in the press, dated 27th of July. The leaders, however said it was belittling of anyone to mischievously link Senator Olujimi to the honest and independent position, jointly taken by the party stakeholders in the LG.
The stakeholders commended the proactive step taken by the Party's National Chairman, Prince Uche Secundus, to postpone the state chapter's LG and state Congresses,as contained in his letter to INEC, dated July 27, 2020. They said the NWC has acted democratically, as they believe, it will create room for PDP dialogue and without prejudice, to the suit pending, at the appellate court, emanating from the March 7 2020 PDP Ward Congresses in the state.
The communiqué reads in part, "It has come to the notice of the PDP Stakeholders in Ekiti South West Local Government, the unwarranted attacks on the personality of our distinguished Senator Biodun Olujimi by some stooges of the former governor Ayo Fayose in their failed attempt to set the innocent Senator Olujimi against our respected National Chairman, Prince Uche Secundus.
"It is more pathetic to know that the set of these 'oath-takers' could condescend so low to allow themselves to be used as tools in the hands of Fayose. We are seizing the opportunity of this medium to reiterate our earlier position that Ekiti people will resist, stiffly any attempt by Fayose to impose unwanted candidates on the majority of the party populace.
"It is important to state unequivocally here that we are leaders and Stakeholders of PDP and are responsible for our earlier position and we are not sponsored by Senator Olujimi or any leader but we are on our independent stance.
"It is equally considered important to let the public be aware that Ayo Fayose has lost his grip of Ekiti PDP as he is now obviously left with less than 13 percent of the party members and those are the ones still under his demonic oath control. Hence, he has resulted to sponsorship of those with no political relevance to create confusion within the party.
We hereby urge the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and the general public to disregard Fayose and his co-traveller's antics to destroy Ekiti PDP."
