- Abimbola Olawumi Olajumoke-Adeniyi a social activist slams Dr Kayode Fayemi the governor of Ekiti State and the Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum over the excessive deductions of local government funds.
Mrs Abimbola Olawumi an Ekiti APC stakeholder and the leader of “Table Shakers Association” an online group that wages war against bad Governance, had took up Governor Kayode Fayemi on his Facebook page in recent days. Mrs Olawumi had been posting about the defects of the present administration in Ekiti State.
She condemned the inflictions placed on the local government elected officials by paying them half salary in pretense of giving Succours to Ekiti people over Covid-19 pandemic and also by rendering the local government useless, the government that’s closer to the people.

"A year ago, he promised to respect the local government Autonomy but he’s more ravenous and oppressive than Fayose, when it comes to administration of local government funds!
Dr. Fayemi, who promised to “Restore the Values” of Ekiti while seeking reelection in 2018, hasn’t only disappointed Ekiti people but he has disorganised, bastardized and destroyed whatever was left of our values!
Unfortunately, all attempts by well meaning, illustrious sons and daughters of the State, to call him to order was met with nonchalance, dictatorial tendencies and an air of superiority complex, making peaceful dialogue ultimately impossible!
Consequently, the local government, the third tier of government has been paralyzed and become moribund, in the State.
Henceforth, we ask the Governor and the Ministry of local government to stop appropriating the LG. funds and allow them to breathe in peace!
If only Mr. Governor, could release #500million out of the #700million, to the 16 LGs monthly, the Chairmen will be productive and the masses will reap the dividends of democracy.
Hell No… my governor will only release #60-70million to 16 local governments, to run their affairs for 30days!
