The Segun Oni Movement(SOM), has described the two-time John Kayode Fayemi administration in Ekiti State as the worst workers friendly in the political, social, and economic history of the state.
SOM maintained that the administration is not only an aberration which in the first instance shouldn't have come into existence save the Salamigate which foisted it on the people of Ekiti state .
The SOM stated this in a press release issued in Ado Ekiti on Friday through its Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Jackson Adebayo while dismissing an attempt by the Kayode Fayemi administration to shift the blame of its misrule on the Segun Oni Administration by circulating an unsigned statement for a fake Ekiti Concerned workers.
Ojaomonews.com received that, Adebayo accused Fayemi of spending the first term and the almost ending second term of his administration to pauperise the lives of average Ekiti workers by denying them all their legitimate entitlements.
Adebayo said, "Then let's ask the Labour Congress whether it had authorised such write up and the government should come up with names of it's hired propagandists among the respected labour union leaders who were being impersonated in this matter
He continued, "this is a profile of Fayemi Administration indebtedness to workers and retired workers in the state which has earned the government a hate with passion from the workers.
According to the movements this same government that has suddenly become an institutional blackmailer is owing primary school teachers and local govt retirees seven months pension arrears, twelve years accumulated gratuity from 2012 to 2022 while
the state retirees three months pension arrears and eleven years accumulated gratuity from 2013 to 2022 have not been paid as well.
The statement added that Local government workers seven months salary arrears ,four years leave bonus and civil servants and secondary school teachers two months salary arrears with four years leave bonus are still being wickedly kept in the mute mode by the Fayemi led government.
Adebayo stressed that the challenges that the APC government placed on the local government workers are enough to send some to an early grave yet same government now hire some buffoons to be impersonating the highly esteemed workers to be issuing statement under cover.
He listed some of the challenges to include:
five months salary arrears without leave bonus since 2017 and
non implementation of awarded promotion to the workers since 2017 with financial backing
"This is a state where the wife of the APC Governor would not solicit for the wellbieng of the suffering workers, rather she is the one nominating who becomes the governor and deputy governor while she nominated herself as the senatorial candidate on the dining table."
Adebayo also recalled *how Biodun Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate proposed the sacking of over 1000 workers in the Ekiti State University(EKSU) and 600 workers in the University Teaching Hospital when he was the Secretary to the State Government.*
Adebayo stated, "It is unfortunate that Fayemi and the APC will resort to blackmail because of Ekiti peoples rejection of his crony, Oyebamiji, adding that the labour leaders in Ekiti will never forget the good heart of Asiwaju Segun Oni which is why they are demanding for his return."
