... ONCE UPON EKITI TIME
I like Mr. Karounwi. He is a very enthusiastic potential writer. He is not too far from being developable in the writing world. But to be candid, he is far enough despite his fulfilment of of some basic requirements.
Our man is a one-way writer. He operates like a soccer man that goes into a match with memorised techniques. Such techniques would be based upon the recorded video matches of the players of the opposing team. Once the individual players change their tactics and methods, our memory player gets confounded and lost.
To fit in as a modern day writer, Hon. Karounwi must be ready to trade-in his genre which has become archaic. The first thing he will have to learn is how to critique his work, even if he is not courageous enough to internally criticize such, before throwing it to the public.
This is for the fact that the first thing that a writer should appreciate is the fact that the general reading public is a hostile one.
Your work, you must realize, will first be viewed by your friends and foes alike, from the angle of your weakness. They would want to mentally tear off the work. Should they fail, the only option open to them will be to embrace you together with your work.
They won't have to openly appreciate you. But you would be noted for recognition.
Mr. Karounwi, following the little I have for you above, can you now beat your chest that your recent write-up on Ekiti South is supported by logic? If the Ekiti South electorate had been voting for you in the North and the Central for the past twenty-four years on the basis of your assumption that Ekiti is one monolithic entity, where is your demonstration of reciprocity?
Let's take a look at the available statistical records. Starting with the governorship, the North has gone three terms of twelve years. It's the same thing with the Central. There had been none for the South.
For the Head of Service, the North has produced four individuals. It's the same thing for the Central. The South has produced none.
For the EKSU VC., the North has produced four individuals. The Central equally produced four. None for the South.
For the Ministerial position, the North spent eight years, seven years for the Central and one year and six months for the South.
For the State and Federal Institutions and Establishments, the North has ten. There are ten for the Central. The South has two.
The trend is about the same thing for employment situations, contract awards including all other matters across board. Yet, Mr. Karounwi is telling the world how Ekiti happens to be the most monolithic community in the world. This has to do with the fact that WHEN A BLACK MAN OCCUPIES A POSITION OF AUTHORITY AND POWER, HE TENDS TO THINK THAT ALL OTHERS ARE FOOLS.
Apart from the issue of governorship per se, there are several other directly and indirectly related matters. All of these are in favor of the North and the Central while working against the South.
Considering the number of appointments, physical structures or infrastructure, contracts awarded, employment and promotion opportunities, etc., as presented or implied, I'm putting it to you, representing the combination of the North and the Central, that you have not reciprocated a little bit. Without asking for anybody's permission, I want to go further by deducing the fact that there's a conspiracy between the North and the Central against the South.
Mr. Karounwi may be talking of the South appealing to emotions and resorting to blackmail. That is too far from the reality. Conspiracy is the case. The conspiracy against the South started from the first day of the creation of the state unknown to the South. This is talking of twenty-four years ago. This came about because of the fact that the South has six local government areas against five each for the North and the Central respectively. These two Districts realized the fact that should each of these Districts come up with one aspirant, the South was sure to win. The knowledge of elementary logic should prove to one that this is what happened twenty-four years ago and it had continued as a conspiratory arrangement subscribed to by the leaderships of these Districts and secretly planted into the minds of their unsuspecting innocent followers.
There is a clear proof of the conspiratory arrangement. If there was no conspiracy, how come there are equal number of governors per North and the Central over the past twenty-four years? Going through the several other benefits tied to the position of the governor down the line, it is about the same thing for these two Districts with almost nothing for the South.
Part of the game plan was the fake sponsorship of a gubernatorial candidate from Ikere (South) by a leader from the Central. This leader from the Central made sure that the Ikere man had no money for his campaign. All the monies meant for his campaign were cornered by THIS fake that sponsored him. Similar activities against the South had been going on for a long time unknown to the leadership of the South.
There is yet another proof of the conspiracy theory. From the point of logic, the South is saying that none of her own had ever occupied the governorship position in the state since her creation twenty-four years ago. The basis upon which the District is campaigning to the electorate is not faulty. Neither is it antagonistic.
If there is no existing conspiratory deal between two against the third, why is the spokesperson for the two Districts in person of Hon. Karounwi so vociferously opposed to the South by propounding a baseless theory of the Monolithic Status of Ekitiland as the sole reason for the two minority districts to always win in alternative rhythmicity against the majority Senatorial District. It's a simple case of the minorities conspiring together against the majority.
As far as Mr. Karounwi is concerned, Ekiti is Ekiti. Ekiti is one and monolithic. Why has the South not benefited from these beautiful characteristics for once in twenty-four years? Each of the above is a sufficient proof of the existence of conspiracy by two minorities against the majority. The clear existence of conspiracy in the Ekiti State Politics is an indefensibility. This is what Mr. Karounwi had been sweating to defend. A fruitless effort.
Homogeneity or monolithic characteristics could influence the electorate quite alright. But this can only happen in a friendly environment that is made-up of genuine individuals. Should that be the case, the act will be followed up with reciprocity. What this means is that there should have been no disparity or discrimination in the distribution of the accompanying benefits accruing from the office of the Governor, both directly and indirectly. The South is simply being enslaved and her citizens oppressed by the North and the Central.
Without any apology, I am now reemphasizing the fact to the world, based upon my analyses above, that there's a long-term working agreement between the political leaderships of the North and the Central, intuitively and logically supported by Mr. Karounwi's write-up, to continue to rotate the governorship position between the two Districts forever. Permit me to quote Mr. Karounwi in his write-up : " As it was in the beginning, so will it be in Ekiti 2022 Gubernatorial election and beyond..."
Even with the above quotation alone from Mr. Karounwi, how could anybody with his senses be deceived that there is neither any conspiracy nor a working agreement planned against the South. The next governor is planned to come from the North. Mr. Ayo Fayose that is now faking an aspirant from the Central is a part and parcel of the agreement. Fayose's son is billed for the next governor from the Central after the very next governor from the North as per their manipulations and expectations.
We now want our leaders from the North and the Central to know that the game is up. Afefe ti fe, a ti ri furo adiye. It will never be the same again in Ekitiland. It is now time for justice to be done. What the North and the Central are now doing against the South in Ekiti State is worse than what the Fulanis of Northern Nigeria are doing against the rest of Nigerians.
Ekiti people, where are you hiding your conscience?! This is not the Ekiti people that we grew up to know.
This is the first time that Ekiti South leaders are in charge of Ekiti South Agenda. The campaign had been handled mostly by the leaders of the North and the Central as a fake exercise to fool the South and frustrate their efforts in the past.
Mr. Karounwi was once managing the gubernatorial campaign of a candidate from the South. The whole world now knows that the exercise was a fake. Sen. Gbenga Aluko had a very good chance of winning the election but his efforts were frustrated by the North and the Central that planted his enemy, Mr. Karounwi, with him as his manager.
Let me now call the attentions of Mr. Karounwi including all the other Karounwi's of the North and the Central. Can I ask you people some fundamental questions? If yes, do you people have any iota of conscience?
Did you people read it in any Ekiti history book that the Ekiti South Senatorial District people were brought into Ekitiland in chains? Even if they were, isn't it about time now for them to get out of their bondage in the modern free world?
Haven't you read about the case of a slave descendant that later became the president of a major nation of the world? Aren't you people worse than the Fulanis that you people are wailing and howling over?
The information reaching the Ekiti South Agenda situation office is that a massive rigging plan has been mapped out against the 2022 gubernatorial election to eliminate the South. The reason for this is that the opinion polls in the state are now very favorable to the South. Both the North and the Central are aware of this development. Hence, the leadership of the two other Districts have decided to go by the way of rigging. This is after finding out that the electorate, even in the two traditionally opposing Districts, have shifted their support to the side of fairness and equity. They have decided to jettison their leaders having discovered that the leaders were merely using them against their conscience.
Now that the secret of the conspiracy agreement has become an open one, the leaders behind the gang up mischief against the South are being very seriously warned to cease and desist from their devilish activities and ensure that such are never repeated. Failure to disengage henceforth, the generations yet unborn will live to regret while cursing their fathers to their great grandfathers starting with the present generation of evildoers.
Mr. Karounwi and his other gangsters will forever be held RESPONSIBLE for planting an everlasting seed of discord in a once peaceful and cohesive Ekitiland.
Now back to the existing statistical records, both economically, politically and socially, the statistical records are negatively skewed against the South. The statistics is not merely appearing on paper. It's most vividly appearing in the bone marrows and the blood streams of every Southern Ekiti son and daughter. It had been thus for the past twenty-four years. The Karounwi hegemonic and devilish establishment is insisting that the trend will be made to continue forever as earlier quoted. But we're saying for the sake and notice of posterity that the gang will cease to exist from now till eternity. Enough, Heavens say, is enough.
Please, my good and wonderful people of the North and the Central, I pray not to be misunderstood. This write-up, which is the general opinion of the leadership of the South, is not being directed against, nor is it meant to attack, the generality of the North or the Central. My unreserved attacks are meant for Mr. Karounwi including all the Karounwi's of the North and the Central Senatorial Districts that are vehemently opposed to justice, equity and fairness. All people of this category are capable of perpetrating any form of evildoing. They deserve to be most keenly watched and physically avoided as much as humanly possible. One wonders as to whether or not they are genuine human beings as they do not act as such. They are simply callous.
