On Thursday, December 31st, 2020, one of the prominent citizen of Ijero Local Government, Hon Lawrence Adebayo Omodara was buried in Araromi Ekiti. His son and daughters, led by Dr Niyi Omodara, and his siblings pulled out all the stops to bury him in grand style.

Baba Lawrence Omodara in his lifetime was an epitome of a real father, a caring and hardworking man, who labored to make sure that all his children became the best in their endeavors and in their chosen carriers. He was a devoted Christian, and a family man till the very end. Hon. Omodara was totally dedicated to his family for whom he sacrificed so much. He was a man of many parts.

SON, DR. OMODARA EULOGISES FATHER.
According to his son, Niyi Omodara, his father, is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of his children, who has filled his niche and accomplished his task, who leaves the world better than he found it, who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it, who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.”

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could ever give another person. He believed in me. This is the price to pay for having a great father. I get the wonders, the joy, the tender moments – and then the tears at the end, too.”
His final departure on 17th December, 2020, was the terminal of a long transition. He left no one in doubt of his courage to stay on but I still need my Dad, and wonder how l'll get by without him”.

HON LAWRENCE OMODARA WAS FERRIED IN CAISSON

An undertakers carrying the deceased’s casket led a procession from the lying in state to the vehicle that convoy him to church for the final funeral service. Baba’s son and daughters shared a hug beside the casket as family, friends, and other mourners bid farewell to their father. Baba’s widow and other family members joined friends and admirers following the vehicle that carried the casket of the deceased to the caravan.

AT THE CHURCH SERVICE.

The remains of the 79years old Omodara arrived in a gold plaited casket; amid the celebration, drumming, and dancing; ferried with the utmost respect by professional Home Care, undertakers arrived St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Araromi Ekiti for the funeral and thanksgiving service.

For the service that was scheduled to start at 10am, the whole church was already filled up to capacity before the stipulated time. Family members, friends of the deceased children and well-wishers from all walks of life assembled to bid the great father, grandfather farewell. As usual, the service commenced with processional hymn and orders of service were conducted by appointed officiating ministers accordingly.

MEET LATE HON OMODARA’S CHILDREN

Hon. Omodara in his lifetime was very fruitful. Many of his children are well to do. Some of them hold very high positions in society, while others are doing well in the corporate world.

AT THE RECEPTION

After the interment, entertainment of guests immediately followed at a playing ground situated beside Baba’s house. The reception witnessed the presence of many dignitaries and celebrities from all walks of life. The venue was filled to the brim as guests arrived from National Association of LAUTECH Alumni, Adeyemi University of Technology, Ondo, Lagos, Ekiti, Ibadan e.t.c. Friends and family members trooped in, gorgeously dressed in the Aso-Ebi that was chosen for the day.

LAUTECH NATIONAL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SUPPORTS THEIR CHAPTER CHAIRMAN, DR OMODARA.

No fewer than 50  representatives of National and Chapter of Lautech Alumni Association were led by the President of the association, Hon. Solomon Onilede LIMO to support Dr. Omodara. The Action team of the Global President came in with the Association bus and represent the association well.

EKITI SINGERS STORM RECEPTION

Ekiti traditional singers routinely stormed the reception to perform. Each artist and dance troupe performed at their best, giving the hosts and guests scintillating performances.
