Ekiti: Akerele breaks silence On Anifowose's Nomination And 2022 Guber Aspiration
Sunday, November 8, 2020.
The widely adjudged winner of the 2007 PDP Governorship Primary in Ekiti State, Otunba Yinka Akerele, has debunked the rumour flying around the Social Media, alleging that he nominated the appointment of a former member of the State's Assembly, Hon. Badejo Anifowose, who was a member of PDP until his appointment, by the APC/Fayemi led Government, as Chairman of the State's Environmental Development Commission, says he had no knowledge of the appointment.
Ekiti State Government had, earlier last week, announced the appointment of Mr Anifowose as Commission Chairman, appointment, which has since generated controversies among political class and particularly within the State's PDP.

Hon Badejo Anifowose who is yet to comment on the appointment, could not be reached as at the time of filling this report. However, reports have it that Mr Anifowose may have hung his decision to dump the PDP on the current leadership crisis rocking the party in the state and that, he may have accepted the appointment.
Akerele said the Governor reserves the statutory responsibility to appoint any individual he may deem fit. "The truth is that I did not nominate Hon Badejo Anifowose for the appointment under APC or Gov Fayemi. I have no knowledge of it, I have no reason to do so. We are not going to dignify our critics with response any further. I am a leader in PDP and I have no other business than to work with others to defeat the APC Government in future elections.
